Modoc Campground is located in the Long Cane Ranger District, Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests (48 min northwest of Augusta, GA) with an elevation of 346 feet. There are a total of 67 campsites. The campground is normally open from the end of March to the beginning of September. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 24 and 48 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 66 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has water hookups. Fees range from $22.00 to $64.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, laundry facility, playground, boat ramp, swimming, flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Campground was beautiful and peaceful. Sites were nice sized and well maintained. Campground was quiet. I stayed mid-week. My stay was great. Four stars because the bathhouse could be updated and better maintained. Shower did not drain.

Love Modoc camped there since 70's, but, site had lots of ants....hope to get 3rd night reserved REFUND. Thank you, Stephanie working there said she'd help as lady called at Reservations! HIGHLY Recommend MODOC, BEAUTIFUL!

We stayed in site 37, water and electric. It's at the end of a small peninsula and has what seemed to be 270 deg view of the lake. The site was pretty level and was able to level without needing any blocks. Nice site with fireplace w/grill, picnic table and what looked like a fish cleaning table. We didn't notice any mosquitoes and my wife is very sensitive to bites. This is a very private site and away from the closest site. Highly recommend.

Great place to camp and spend time with the family. Just make sure if youre staying for a long period of time the campground no longer offers washer and dryers as they have done in the past. Still a wonderful campground and good just .

We had a great time. Had to move from site 38 to 36 on 2nd day due to electrical problems. Staff was very helpful and nice. Cant wait to come back.

We stayed at site 60, a pull through that was basically private. View was water side, actually a small inlet, but the water was extremely low. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful. The bath house/restrooms were clean, looked recently painted, but were very dated. One shower with a bench outside the shower curtain, right in front of the entry door. Bottom of the shower curtain up to your knees. Not very private.

upon arrival the entrance gate was unmanned and the phone to call for checking in was out of service. i was unable to check in or get the gate code, which i needed in order to leave early the next morning. the facilities were not up to the standards i experience at other federal campground locations

Park is nice. Site 7 with auto leveling put the bottom step 15" from the ground. Not good for older senior to get in and out of motorhome. We booked two nights but only stayed one since having difficulty getting out of MH.

Overall the site is in pretty good shape considering the hurricane that came through.Ive been camping here for years and had seen the before.The hosts are very nice and keep the grounds/sites clean and the bathrooms/showers are also well maintained!

The weekend we spent camping was one of the greatest weekends spent camping. The weather was perfect. The staff went above and beyond. The camp host even came to our site to welcome us. I was very impressed of the condition of the campsite despite of it being in the direct path of hurricane Helene. I will definitely be booking more sites ahead of time.

Good visit! Site was clean and easily accessed. Storm damage was not visible in the site which was suprising. All amenities worked as they should. Camo hosts were all friendly and accomodating

Poorly run campground. Had a problem with our selected site and host could not help. Called help number and they could not change the site because our reservation already started. Had to pay for another site. Discovered all sites overrun by ants! Never again.

Nice attendants run the site,know funds are limited,but entire area needs trees/limbs cut and weedeating and improvingrestrooms are pretty clean,only one is air conditionedjust needs some upgrades to entire campgroundI visit there several times per year
