Poorly run campground. Had a problem with our selected site and host could not help. Called help number and they could not change the site because our reservation already started. Had to pay for another site. Discovered all sites overrun by ants! Never again.

Only disappointment was the showers in the bathhouse had very little pressure to take a shower

WE LOVE THIS COE! THE HOSTS ARE GREAT! WE USED THE FREE LAUNDRY FACILITY AND THAT IS A PLUS! CELL PHONE COVERAGE WAS GOOD! BIGGEST DRAWBACKS WERE NO HANDICAP SHOWERS (WE HAD TO GO TO WALMART TO BUY A PLASTIC CHAIR SO I COULD SHOWER) AND THERE'S NO RECYCLING. ITS A BEAUTIFUL LAKE WITH AWESOME SUNSETS! WE EVEN GOT TO WATCH THE PAIR OF EAGLES!

The site was nice, clean and spacious. We are not boaters. The bottom was murky as suspected, but the unevenness of the lake bottom was a bit irritating. The biggest problem I had this visit is that we never saw anyone who worked there. No drive bys. Nothing. We never figured out how to get the water to work. Fortunately, I brought enough tap water from home to clean up. Our off days from work are during the week so I figured that the park wouldn't be fully manned but literally saw no one the whole time we were there. I love Modoc though and will be returning. Beautiful views.

We enjoyed our stay at Modoc. Looks like the Corps of Engineers have been working in the campsite. It is looking good.

We absolutely love the campsites at Modoc. They are huge, level, well maintained and have all the necessities plus some. Like the majority of the sites there, we had a beautiful view. We have already made our reservations to return later this year. While there, we visited the pretty little town of Edgefield and had a delightful lunch at Park Row Market on the square. We also ventured into Georgia and visited Madison and Millidgeville. We had a delicious lunch at Farmview Market in Madison and toured the historic district. The Millidgeville Visitors Center was very helpful and directed us to their cemetery, which is beautiful and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and we finished our day at the Central State Hospital, now closed, but once the world's largest mental institution.
