We had a great time other than the ant issue. All the sites seem to have problems with ants. We were told the Corp will not spray the ants .

Camphosts are super friendly. Our site was freshly raked and clean upon our arrival. Close enough to explore Augusta, Ga and Mistletoe State Park.

Modoc is a very nice campground, hosts are very nice, park is clean, restrooms clean. Only issue was golf carts being rode at all hours by kids and others not elderly or handicap. Campers booking spots for a week and leaving on Sunday and not returning until the next friday? this is why it is becoming hard for people to get spots,I thought I read all spots had to be occupied and golfcarts were for handicap? Rangers need to do a better job at ensuring this so the park doesnt turn into some we have seen as being over run by loud people not having repect for others and riding carts at midnight, and be more respectful for people not being in their spot all week, if your not going to be there take your camper with you and let someone else stay the week. examples are the ones that was in I think 25/26 buddy spots. They have done it the past 4 or 5 years.

We absolutely love this campground! This is our second and not last time here. The staff are friendly and kind. Yes, there are ants; however they are very easy to control by bringing a bottle of Spectracide (or Home Defense) and spraying absolutely every part of your camper that touches the ground (tires, Jack stand, stabilizers, etc). They are crafty - I left a towel hanging on my awning that touched the chair below it. I was shocked to see a solid ant trail right up to my camper. Seriously, they will climb anything. They even climbed our bikes on the ground and traversed to the bike carrier on the camper via my cable lock on the tires! A simple spray solved that fast. You wont regret bringing the spray and we did the perimeter of our picnic table and screen room and never had an issue with them. Dont complain to the staff about the ants. Its in your control and youll have a wonderful time there!

excellent campsites--very large and fairly private. Not much to do in the area but the campground is good for all outdoor activities: biking, kayaking, walking, fishing, hiking.

great sites, finally got our favorite #29. Darlene and Stanley do a good job and we look forward to seeing them everytime we visit Modoc. Would love to have the park open earlier in the spring and stay open later in the fall. Appreciate having people in the booth in case of problems.

We had site 29 and as far as I am concerned is the best site on the lake! It is great and the campground hosts were great! They are so friendly and welcoming and that makes going to Modoc a real pleasure! They keep the campground as neat as a pin! We will return year after year! The only complaint is to the Corp for not keeping the campground open year round or at least open earlier and close later in the season? The best camping times are now here and fishing starts getting good in Feb.Thanks for allowing me to shine a good light on Modoc and the people who host!Paul Freeman
