We had such a great stay. I was glad to see that things were being taken care of as they should be. The bath houses were clean and pleasant to use.

Always clean and well kept campground, Camp Host are the Best. Been staying at Modoc for last 15 years, never a problem.

Arrived on Wednesday to find office closed ( on Tuesday also) with instructions to park and register later. My site #4 was so uneven that it was impossible to level. Park was less than 50% full with many sites open with no reserved signs posted. I found several I could used and called Recreation. gov. to change sites. Was told by them that they could make no changes on day of reservation. Called the number on wall of entry building and got a very nice lady who said she only answered the telephone after hours and could not make any changes but if I wanted to change she would verify that I had called her. I did change to another site. Thursday when I went to register and change sites I also told the attendant about site 4. I was told by them (both) that they had no relationship with the Corp of Engineers and would not report this. They explained that they were contract workers with no connection to the Corp. This experience has several elements that I have not experienced at other Corp parks (and I have used Corp parks across America) Just to have a site that could not be used in a reasonable manner was a new experience. Not to be able to report this and to have the gate attentant refuse to acknowledge any relationship with the Corp is disturbing to me as a regular user and as a US taxpayer. The Fair rating should probably be lower but I assume that this will not be read anyway but at least I tried to input to the system.
