this campground is very beautiful, secluded and has unique sites. it also has a stream running through it. the host is really nice, checked in regularly, and sells firewood, which is super convenient! unfortunately, this campground is definitely for large families and groups of young adults. if you want to disconnect from loud noises and sit in a quiet environment, this isn't the campground for you. music, generators and loud conversations are heard throughout the campground from the early morning to late at night.

The campground was beautiful. Our site appeared to be raked before arriving and the vault restrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper. The camp host was nice and left us alone accept for the mandatory sign-in. No cell service is a positive for me and well definitely consider returning.

I couldn't find it. Directions took me to the ranger station, Google listed as permanently closed, I took the Wishon road, but there was a sign that said road was closed. I eventually ended up staying at Balch Park.

Wishon is a cute little campground with a paved road all the way and plenty of shade. The creek was so pretty and peaceful. Our spot was spacious and not too dusty. I do wish there wouldve been firewood for sale from the hosts though. Also apparently there are no rules about having bright lights on all night or running generators. And the bathroom near us kept being out of toilet paper.

Beautiful campground with spectacular views. Unfortunately there were clouds of bugs, but thankfully of the non-biting kind. The short walk to the river is a great way to spend a day. I wouldn't recommend the trails near the campground, they are very overgrown and hard to pass through. If you want to see giant sequoias, be prepared to drive there instead. The camp host was very friendly and kept everything tidy and clean.

Great spot! Nest to the creek (spot 8-9) Camp host was a life saver when we left keys in our car (smh). Highly recommend.

As we approached this campground, there was only one road in and it led to a high fire area with excessive brush. The campground was very overgrown and the nature trail was closed due to overgrowth. Our site had trash in the fire ring. The campground is made for folks who enjoy partying late into the night. Camp host was very nice but did not patrol after 8pm so many, many sites had very loud music until well after midnight. Several people were smoking cigarettes in the forest, not good. At least 3 dogs were constantly off leash in the campground. The river is beautiful, but we left after 4 days and had scheduled two weeks. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately, the site didnt work out for us. Quiet hours were not enforced, with loud music and noise continuing well past 10 p.m., probably until midnight or later. There were numerous empty beer and soda cans scattered by the river. The signage at the campsite roads was unclear, leading to trailers getting stuck by going the wrong way. Additionally, we wouldnt recommend anything larger than a small trailer on the road leading up to the campsite.

My kids enjoy all the watering holes around Wishon. We had tried about 4 different locations, all within 15 minutes drive from campsite.

We will absolutely be booking this campsite again. The natural cold spring was perfect to cool off, easy fishing for rainbow trout, and act as a lovely sound machine to sleep. Site is spacious, quiet (could not hear other sites), fun rocks to climb and very well shaded. Hammocks between trees were a hit with the kids. Very family friendly area.Expected disadvantages: hungry mosquitos, drop toilets were smelly.

Loved this place. We stood on campground 29 and there was so much space. It was shaded with all the trees around our campground that we did not need our tents. Restrooms very clean. Definitely recommend this camp. We will come back next summer .

Campsite itself was great. Multiple levels with the picnic table being a bit lower than the parking spot, and a lower section with multiple options for placing your tent. Could hear the river at night, would definitely stay at this campsite again.Right across from the bathrooms, but given the multiple levels of the campsite, didn't feel like it was too busy.

We had a great experience at this location! The area was clean, easy to navigate, and relaxing. The restrooms were clean. The only issue was, a rattlesnake was living in a tree that was located in our campsite. Besides that, it was a great experience. I plan to return.

The camp site itself was wonderful and the surroundings and scenery were amazing. But the stench from the vault toilets wafted all the way across camp and really ruined the experience. There's a little sign on the door saying basically "please close the lid and the door when you're done" but you can't rely on other campers to actually do that. There didn't seem to be any of that chemical down in the pit for helping with the smell. This was really a major let-down. I take my kids camping 2 to 3 times every year and have been to many places, and never had to deal with the stench of human waste while trying to enjoy dinner by the camp fire, until this tip. I didn't expect it to be the Hilton up there, and I didn't expect showers and flush toilets or anything. But at least manage the stench from the vault pits with adequate suppression. This was inexcusable and turned a 5 star rating into 2 stars for us.

Grounds are well kept and camp host is friendly and informative. We were there early May and the weather was perfect. Lots of bumble bees and lady bugs as well as other insects and snakes. Only saw Black Racers though. The North Fork Middle Fork of the Tule provides a wonderful background as you relax, sleep and fish. Lots of stocked and wild fish around in pockets and pools. Unfortunately the nature trail adjacent to the campground is very overgrown and wasn't worth the effort to explore. The Doyle trail is a challenge due to the narrow trail, uneven grading, and you have to put a bit of effort to get around the private property before you get back to the river or better views. There are a lot of downed trees that you need to carefully get over, under, and around. The campground itself though is awesome!

Beautiful campground. There were campers there when we arrived, but all but one was left the next morning and for the rest of our stay. The toilets remained dirty and were not cleaned. Our daughter swept and cleaned the one near us herself so that her children could use it, but the toilet paper was missing. We were disappointed that the nature trail was closed. It would have led us to a giant sequoia which we really wanted to take the kids to see. If we come back, we would love to use that trail. The river was beautiful, and we did our part to pick up any cans and trash that we found to keep it pristine and beautiful. The meat bees were troublesome. I think it was because there was no one else around to bother but us.

Beautiful campground! We checked in on Labor Day and were the only campers after everyone had checked out after the holiday weekend with the exception of one other camp site. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper and the host greeted us within a few minutes of arrival and notified us about the local bear. About 5 minutes later we saw the bear wandering through the empty campground which was pretty cool to see! Most sites in the back of the campground are shady and the temperature was perfect while we were there, not too warm at the site during the day and not too cold at night. Lots of reviews mention the bugs which are definitely present once you arrive and get out of your car. They seem to be flies that are buzzing around your eyes and ears and went straight for our dogs' eyes! At first we were thinking they would be annoying the entire time but once we started setting up camp and lit some citronella candles and had a fire burning (we brought a bunch of old mail/paper to burn so as to not waste wood) the smoke seemed to keep the bugs away and we didn't notice them most of the time. The bugs didn't seem to be biting like mosquitos, just like annoying flies buzzing around your head. Recommend having lots of stuff to burn such as herbs, citronella candles, and paper, and maybe a small hand fan to wave around you if they come buzzing, but again we didn't notice them most of the time once we were actually occupying our site. The campground has a river stream with pools running through it that's easily accessible from any of the site which was a nice way to cool off. Lots of cool things to see and amazing sequoia groves within driving distance the campground. We will be back!

My family has camped at this location for over 20 years and its been a while since weve had a really great camp host that was on top of all the trash and restrooms. The host was very nice and friendly he made checking in and out a breeze. It was a very nice trip; I do wish forestry would clear the trail so there would be more to do with children.

The campsite itself if lovely. The reason that our trip was good and not great are as follows:- The bugs and bees were terrible. Every meal and meal prep was marred by them and our camp neighbor got stung by a wasp while cooking. - We booked during the week and the camp manager was 'out of office' the entire time. This would be fine if there was any cell service available in case of emergency but there wasn't. Further, no maps were available to find local hikes or any other kind of helpful information. - The bathrooms were not at all maintained and some of the toilets were clogged.The river access is awesome and the kids enjoyed all of the blackberry bushes along it's banks. If we come back again, we will have a mosquito net to try and deal with the bugs and bring our own maps and perhaps an emergency phone just in case. Overall, it was a pleasant week!

An amazing campground with amazing views of the stars. Has a very cold and refreshing big pool of water to swim in too! Only complaint is the bugs! A resident bear lives there too but it is still scared of humans, just yell at it to scare it away. Would definitely go back

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
