Beautiful campground. There were campers there when we arrived, but all but one was left the next morning and for the rest of our stay. The toilets remained dirty and were not cleaned. Our daughter swept and cleaned the one near us herself so that her children could use it, but the toilet paper was missing. We were disappointed that the nature trail was closed. It would have led us to a giant sequoia which we really wanted to take the kids to see. If we come back, we would love to use that trail. The river was beautiful, and we did our part to pick up any cans and trash that we found to keep it pristine and beautiful. The meat bees were troublesome. I think it was because there was no one else around to bother but us.

The campsite itself if lovely. The reason that our trip was good and not great are as follows:- The bugs and bees were terrible. Every meal and meal prep was marred by them and our camp neighbor got stung by a wasp while cooking. - We booked during the week and the camp manager was 'out of office' the entire time. This would be fine if there was any cell service available in case of emergency but there wasn't. Further, no maps were available to find local hikes or any other kind of helpful information. - The bathrooms were not at all maintained and some of the toilets were clogged.The river access is awesome and the kids enjoyed all of the blackberry bushes along it's banks. If we come back again, we will have a mosquito net to try and deal with the bugs and bring our own maps and perhaps an emergency phone just in case. Overall, it was a pleasant week!
