The campground itself is great but please note that the trailer length is not accurate. I saw a review stating this and they said their 24' trailer wouldn't fit, so I thought we would be fine. We have a 12' teardrop and we really had to do some finagling to get it and our truck in. Along with that, there are bear boxes since you're in bear country but no where to dispose of dishwater. We were unsure of what to do so we drove to the North campground and dumped it there since they have a sink.

Great campground! Well equipped campsites with firepits (with grills), stone picnic tables, and bear boxes. Plenty of room for multiple tents. The sites are well spaced apart as well. We stayed at site E16 and the site felt very private, but was close to the bathroom, trash bins, and water spigot. Would stay here again!

We had a fabulous July 4 weekend at Summit Lake South. The amenities were just as described.The only drawback was that we had reserved two sites next to each other to accommodate our large family (E6 and E8), but someone had swapped the posts for E8 and E10, so one site was across the road and down a bit, and we were farther apart than originally intended. This would have been fine except that E9 (which was then next to us) was very small with not-well-defined boundaries. That weekend's occupants had a LOT of gear and spilled into our space more than we would have wanted. Hopefully the rangers read this review and fix the posts so that the marked sites actually match where they're marked on the website.All that aside, we had a great trip. Six of the 10 in our party made it to Lassen Peak with many photos and memories to bring home with us. We also hiked Kings Canyon and visited the Subway Cave and the mud pots. All were fairly handy from the campground.The vault toilets were well maintained, and the water spigots were handily placed. There was NO cell coverage at the campground (and in the park in general), so folks should be prepared with printed reservations and maps.

Campsites are close together. E7-E9 are extremely close to each other.

Summit Lake was beautiful. Bathrooms were clean. It seems the only place to buy firewood is the Camp store at Manzanita, so plan accordingly.

Always amazing to be at Lassen. The lack of NPS staff is very evident-from noise control to the cleanliness of the facilities and dogs on trail.

Area was nice, water was on, bathrooms were clean. A downside was that we were in the TENT ONLY Loop, Loop D, and there were lots of motor homes and trailers in there. The bugs were annoying, mosquitos and no-see-ums, so bring bug spray.

Delightfully free of generators. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Lovely weather.

Lassen is a great park and we had a lot of fun. We camped on the South side of the lake which has a pretty lakefront but the shore isn't accessible because of mud and plants, you have to go over to the North side when required driving. Our campsite and the one next to use that we also reserved had very little shade, most of the trees had been cut down. It was therefore extremely hot and sunny and unusable for 6 hours a day. The bathrooms on the south side have pit toilets but the north side has flush toilets and sinks. I did enjoy Lassen but will camp on the north side of the lake next time.Kings Creek Meadow is a great place for little kids to run around. We did not do any hiking because my kids are little. I heard the Lily Pond trail was good for kids but I had dogs and they aren't allowed on trails. We spent a lot of time at Summit Lake

Camp site was perfect for clear night for viewing stars and it is near beautiful Summit Lake. Very clean restroom.. A shower room could have made it even better.

The camp site was as described. We used the fire ring to have a camp fire and cook some veggies and s'mores. We purchased firewood at the camper store behind the Loomis museum, near the Manzanita lake. The nearest showers is located at the same place. The camp site is 30 mins drive from either entrances for the park.

Mount Lassen is a true treasure, I love how one side of the trail is a protected alpine paradise, and the other side is devastated by a fairly recent eruption. I highly recommend visiting the southernmost volcano in the Cascade Ring of Fire!

Loved everything for the most part. The bear lockers gave piece of mind. But if you are tenting, be advised that the actual camping spot is about 25X25 at the most. Your neighbors are respectful for the most part be patient with the loud man bonding beer can popping and babies that cry much of the time. I suggest to skip Friday-Monday. Lassen peak is a must, even if you can only make it to the Grandview (1/2 of ascent). Between Summit lake South and the Peak trail there is an awesome unmarked pull out that is really great for some solitude. The pull outs throughout the park are great, but be careful on the longer stretches between campsites and trail heads because there are those that drive too fast and even pass. King's creek picnic area is really nice. The King's creek trailhead is usually pretty packed for parking go early. I left my camera there and no one has responded to my email inquiry for over a week now, maybe phone tomorrow. If going in dry camping season be sure to bring lots of water 3-5 gallons per person per day. The fire ring was level and not packed with coal ash. Summit lake itself was iffy to get to from camp, go thu the drive to the established trail head. Next time I hope to do the Chaos crags jumbles as I am a big fan of boulders. I want to do Cinder Cone Butte Lake, but that is not IN the park. Be advised that the free dispersed camp before the lake has a tree blocking the drive that has not been removed. Best thing? All the lady rangers. I love to see women represented so well! Def try to go again after the spring melt next year. Last note, the blasted large devastated zone is profound, Mother Nature is a bad mamajamma. A.M.A

your reservation system confuses campers without reservations. A camper was in my campsite when I arrived. Fortunately they had not set up camp yet and were able to move out. The bathrooms are very stinky unlike those at Butte Lake which are amazingly clean. I won't be back for quite a while.

There was no fresh water working on camp site, no update on the issue in the website or in the park entrance.Except that nice quite camp site
@JulianaO7B3BF1 · Camped on Sep 14, 2024 at Campsite #C7
There was no potable water in the campingsite.

Only issue I had is the staff didn't put up a reserved tag at our site, so when I arrived there of course was someone already there. We were both just passing through and I offered to just share the site, problem solved. The campground was very nice. Clean, spacious and fires were allowed, which was great. It has my recommendation.

Great, quiet campground with clean restrooms and trash receptacles. Lassen is so peaceful and beautiful and not crowded!

The campground was quiet and nice, even outside of the tent-only loop. Our specific campsite didn't have a great flat spot for a tent, which is my only complaint.

No camphost, quite private sites. Some regulars there, calm and nice experience.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
