Beautiful and well maintained campsites, and a few offer a lot of privacy. The trash is collected often and the bathrooms are clean. The woodchips spread across the ground at the campsites keep the areas from getting dusty and dirty. Good flat places to pitch a tent. The fire rings are a very nice addition as it gets cold at night. There are hikes right off Summit Lake to Echo Lake and Twin Lakes and even further if you want to hike to Cinder Cone. The swimming in Summit Lake is wonderful, especially on a hot day. We were there in August and the water was refreshing, but not too cold that we couldn't swim. The drive to the camp store at Manzanita doesn't take long and you can get excellent soft serve ice cream there. If you want more quiet and less crowds, Summit Lake camp ground is the best.

excellent central base camp to hike Lasses Peak, Kings Falls, Bumpass Hell, Brokeoff Mountain. Campsites well spaced; fellow campers quiet and respectful. Beautiful lake day and night.

Had a wonderful stay. Our hosts were super welcoming and friendly, while also being very informative of camp rules and expectations. My one minor gripe is that even though the campsites are limit 6, it seems children are unlimited. A small neighboring campsite had 6-8 younger children who were up at very early morning hours, which is not necessarily reflective of the park or campground. Facilities were decent. Bathrooms were a bit smelly, but clean overall. The campsite was beautiful, clean, peaceful, & relaxing (note: children exception). We will definitely be back!
