Great location for hikes. Not all camp parking spaces are flat, so if youre staying in your vehicle be aware. They did shut off all water spickets without any advance notice and there werent any NON POTABLE water signs on those spickets - I just knew better then to drink the water.

your reservation system confuses campers without reservations. A camper was in my campsite when I arrived. Fortunately they had not set up camp yet and were able to move out. The bathrooms are very stinky unlike those at Butte Lake which are amazingly clean. I won't be back for quite a while.

Campsite was very close to a neighbor site. The neighbor used 3-4 gas lanterns until late in the evening and ruined night sky viewing and campfire relaxation. Park should educate visitors on being respectful with their lighting.

We found three day hikes that weren't crowded, but they didn't go to the famous spots either. One day we saw a bear happily munching manzanita berries and paying no attention to us, one of the highlights of our trip. About the campground - I really liked the woodchips that have been placed in the campsites. It made the area seem much cleaner. It would be nice if campers didn't go out on the trails and pick up green wood - it's so smoky! We really appreciated being well separated from the RVs - we walked through that area on a day hike and it was noisy over there. There was a large area for tents that wasn't reservable near our campsite. I wish it had all been reservable.
