Bathrooms : only one campground toilet and one shower was operational. The conditions of the bathrooms were unbearable . They were not even remotely clean as bugs had died in the water surrounding the sink top and there was such erosion of the actual sink itself I thought the water would leak to the floor. No quiet hours were observed as movies from a church group were playing until 1am. No campground hosts in sight. Had reservations for two nights and barely made it through one.

A wonderful spot! Open sites, easy water and electric hookups, convenient dump station and dumpster. Excellent walking in the park and on the connected Palmetto trail. My dog loved it.

I don't want to say anything nice about the campground because I don't want any more people knowing about it

Buck Hall is just north of Charleston and the Sweetgrass Highway - so much to see and do - Charleston, the Forest Service Environmental Education Center, etc.

This is such a nice, small, tranquil campground with spacious sites. We enjoyed walking the trails and watching the boats on the intracoastal. Hope to come back again!

Lovely campsite with convenient facilities. Restroom facilities could use updating or maintenance.

Excellent CG for exploring the SC coastjust a little bit far away if youre planning on hanging out in the Charleston area for several days, though.I was able to paddle my kayak with a pair of bull nose dolphins while we were hereone of the top highlights of our trip to SC!!

Stayed 2 nights in March. Very nice campground, Sites have good distance between them but few trees. Bathrooms dated but serviceable. No see-ums were tough at sunset! Would definitely stay there again.

The is the 2nd time that my husband and I camped at Buck Hall. We love the location with the waterway and great trails. The bathroom needs some attention - the host was there rarely during the 4 nights we stayed. We understand that the park is going to be renovated soon but we hope the campsites are not going to be too close together and hope so many trees are not taken down that it loses its natural charm.

Overall great campsite. Just as described. Proximity to Francis Marion WMA, boat launch & tidal waters was awesome. Onsite sewage vs a dump station would have been nice but not end of the world. Sites were a great size even for a large rig. Definitely would recommend to others.

Basic campsites with a nice view, the facilities were outdated and not very clean.

Great spot on the waterway. Nice large spots and a good boat ramp. Starting point for the Palmetto trail.

I was pleasantly surprised on how quaint the campground was upon arrival. I went to my site and an RV was already parked in the spot. I realized I had made a mistake and reserved the spot for the following night. I panicked and started searching for the host, none, they had an emergency and had to leave. I could not determine what spots were available and was on the verge of panic since it was an hour before sunset. Along came a ranger, Miss Jo Wanda drove up and listened to me on what happened. She calmly said she could help me and next thing, I had a spot. Relief. Im too old to drive when it gets dark. I could not thank her enough and appreciate her kindness. My doggies and I thank you. Buck Hall was very relaxing. We enjoyed watching the boats travel down the IC.The staff was extremely helpful when someone was in one of our reserved spots for our family vacation. I cannot wait to return.

We love the spacious sites at Buck Hall, the view of the ICW and marsh, the quiet atmosphere and incredible view of the stars at night.

Buck Hall was a physically beautiful place. The campsites were pretty level and spacious. Close to North Charleston and some beaches for day trips. McClellanville is a great little town to explore. We did not use the showers or bathrooms as they were filthy. Our site had lots of small trash on it that l picked up. Only saw the camp host one time, then he packed up one late afternoon and left.

We like this small campground along the waterway. Its a nice spot. The campground and day use area are in need of an overhaul, though.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
