The location is amazing! The sites are paved, well spaced and flat. The bathrooms are old and our 50 amp connection didn't work, so we had to use 30 amp. They are closing down soon to repair these things, so we can't wait to come back after the remodel.

Half a dozen sites are for tents along the shoreline, while the others are mainly for RV with water and electricity. Nice shade and sites are well spaced. My only complaint are the washrooms. Very bad shape and falling apart. Too bad because the site is nice and a reasonable distance to town.

We make it a point to stay at this very relaxing, quiet, friendly (ref camp host) location whenever possible. We already look forward to returning.

Beautiful campground on the Intercoastal Waterway about an hour north of Charleston. Huge sites, but with only 14 RV sites, it needs more! Found it interesting that the 500 mile Palmetto Trail that criss-crosses SC ends here.

Love coming here! I am from Charleston and when I come home, I like to bring my camper and stay here. Alan was the camphost this trip and went above and beyond! The camp sites are large, not full hook up but that is ok....the price is just right for what this site is! Great value and will definately be back :)

Buck hall is rather "high end" as Federal national forest (not national park) campgrounds go. It is rather small, as most are; 14 site. The sites are very close together and there is absolutely no "screening" between sites. It's a camping parking lot. It can accomodate tents to the huge busses. But there is water and electricity at each site, except the tents only" sites! The toilet/shower building is very basic and in good repair though clearly not new and well worn. Many Federal national forest campgrounds - especially those west of the Mississippi - have a central water spigot - which is sometimes a hand pump - and a pit toilet. Some of the "dispersed" sites have a fire ring and that's it. They are walk in from more than than the 10 feet away asphalt parking pad. Those are the ones we favor. So why camp her? Access: It is on the edge of the national forest, near the wonderful city of Charleston, the splendid Brookgreen Gardens and it's on the Intracoastal waterway. And with a Senior Pass, it's cheap.

The view of the intercoastal was beautiful. I had good cell service. If you like fishing, this is a great spot. I stayed because it was close to Georgetown and Charleston, SC, and was one of the most affordable options.

Loved this place. The camp hosts were very friendly. It was peaceful and quiet. We have been traveling for 6 months and this is one of my favorites. The waterway was gorgeous.

Bathroom facilities did not work. All toilets non-functional and out of service. Never saw the campground host. The grass was tall around the trees and there were lots of bugs and snakes. The entire campground is in disrepair. The wooden beams to keep people off the grass areas are all rotten. the entire campground needs a refresh. I go there for the convenience of the boat landing. It would be such a nice campground especially if sewer hook ups were added. There is an overflow area, but no one is allowed to use it. It's such a waste of land if we can't use the overflow as well.

We stayed here only one night, but we thought the place was beautiful! Our only negative was due to mosquitoes. There were so many that even the strong breeze couldn’t keep them away. We do hope to stay here again…when it’s cold enough for the six legged vampires to be gone.

Well kept, very clean

Omg what a great place to stay. May be only 14 sites but they are great sites and park management was awesome and the trails were amazing. And with being an intercostal water way there was dolphins about every day or so and the. The boaters going by.
