We love this campground because we can leave our boats on the beach and go out for a paddle anytime. Unfortunately many people tie up sites and dont show up. This is a bad system recreation dot gov.

We arrived to find our campsite was a lake with a table due to a very heavy rain. The hosts allowed us to switch sites and we had a wonderful night. Wing able to launch our kayaks from the beach was definitely nice. The sites were spacious enough to feel a little privacy. The evening was beautiful and we had a nice paddle around the lake the next day and found several hotttubs. Very cool to see the bubbles from the hot water rising to the surface

The lake itself is absolutely beautiful, and the campground has great access to a large shore and beach area, which was great. The sites were relatively well laid out, and a fair amount of space between sites, so you didn't feel cramped. Pretty campgraound. My only compliant were the bathrooms. They advertise "flush toilets", though they are housed in two small structures .. well, I'd say one that's "small" and one that's "exceedingly small". In addition, neither of the men's bathrooms were in working order, only the women's side could be used in either building, so two toilets for the entire campground. The bathroom in the exceedingly small building was close to an airline-sized bathroom .. you get the picture. No explanation as to why the men's bathrooms weren't working, and apparently no effort made to get them fixed. The camp hosts were .. not great. Not sure what they did other than change the campsite "reserved" signs; the bathrooms weren't very clean.

East Lake is a lovely campground with large sites and great proximity to the lake. Men's restrooms were closed due to budget cuts. There is potable water. The only place to buy firewood is East Lake resort, where it sells for $9 a bundle.

If visiting the Newberry monument I recommend taking the time to visit the High Desert Museum in Bend, OR

It was beautiful and calm and we loved it. A bathroom out of commission was challenging but it could have been worse.

Dont tell anyone about East Lake in the Newberry caldera, because I dont want it to become so popular its impossible to get in. I love this place, and #4 is a good site right on the lake. Many good spots for a tent. All the sites on the lake are excellent. There are hot springs walking distance from the campground. (1st one is a little yucky, 2nd one is great!) Flush toilets were clean. Spectacular night sky. Ill definitely be back.

We love East Lake Campground. However, it appears that the repairs and maintenance of the facility is lacking. Both men's bathrooms were out-of-order and the waste water receptacles were not draining.

Great campgroundWhen is the Forest Service going to fix the boat ramp? The lake level has dropped and the ramp is useless for normal boat launch.The dock has been high and dry for several years. Popular location thst should get a priority.

The restroom situation was very disappointing The mens restrooms were not operational which meant that you needed to wait in line to share the womens restroom

Beautiful lake with some cool rocks!! Nice large campsites with plenty of space for a tent, vehicle, picnic table and hammock. The sites next the lake are ideal.

Water and bathrooms were closed due to water contamination with no heads up on the problem

I wanted to see the obsidian flow. Very cool. It is a nice campground and a beautiful beach at the lake.

Excellent hosts and cleanliness! Only issue was all the over privileged dog owners that let their dogs run wild and not clean up after them.

Peaceful campground-super clean bathrooms with a heater. A welcome surprise since it was hailing!

Beautiful park and campground, including clean restrooms. The boat launch at East Lake is useless for backing trailered boats into the lake. The launch is not maintained. Impossible. Thanks to our friendly camp neighbor, we were able to launch our boat with his 4WD at the lodge beach docks. Sandy and soft, but doable. East Lake launch, however, is okay for kayaks, canoes, etc.We have never seen a camp ranger, or law enforcement official during our summer trips, which makes it uncomfortable to deal with unruly campers, unleased dogs, and speeding boaters. We expect more from our National Park system.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
