My husband and I stayed in site #90. We have a 21 foot trailer. Its a nice big site. We also stored our boat trailer there. Plenty of room. Our friends were next to us in site #92 pulling a 30 foot trailer. Plenty of room. While the men fished my friend and I walked all over the camp ground. We biked all over. We kayaked every day.We had happy hour on the deck at the Blue Duck Saloon. We drove to nearby Paulina Lake. We hiked. Took note that there is live music there all summer. Loved our stay.

Cinder Hill Campground was beautiful and very quiet. Our family was there for 3 nights and loved the lake and trail access. We look forward to coming back next summer!

Campground was nice, and was very convenient to be so close to the resort shop and restaurant. Parking fees were my only issue with the stay. Online the extra vehicle charge said $5 per night, but was $10 when we arrived. The card payment machine broke and charged my friend twice, with no pass printing. The camp host was a bit of a grump about it, and said we must pay with cash instead and go find an atm. Ended up paying 35 dollars between cash and card charges for the two nights extra vehicle that was expected to be $10 total. Would have been nice to have some more understanding and empathy from the camp host about the situation. Just bring cash for extra vehicles in case, not worth the hassle.

This has been a great place to stay. Only issue is lack of camp host when they have day off. Kiosk for getting extra vehicle pass was out of paper and no one around to help.

Great spot. Kind of on a slope. NOT FLUSH TOILETS.. it didnt bother us though

This site seemed smaller or just tighter than the rest. Bunch of tree stumps just high enough to trip over not cut flush. Other than that alright besides people driving faster than the designated speed and driving wrong direction just because its a few seconds faster.

Great spot with some larger spots. Thunderstorms each evening/afternoon though. Not sure if this is the norm. Great Lake!

Main bathroom with flushing toilets has been out of action for MONTHS. To charge $27 per night and not have a decent bathroom is quite unacceptable. For the pit toilets - best you bring your own toilet paper as there is no guarantee that they have been recently serviced. (4th July weekend - completely out of TP and bathroom not serviced for several days).

Everything is great about Cinderhill campground except for THE TOILETS ARE ALWAYS OUT OF ORDER. If you don't mind braving the sensory assault, you can use an outhouse (which are never out of order).

Only one out of three restrooms in our section of the camp was working during our stay. Otherwise things in camp were pretty OK. Our campsite was big enough and nice. There were some noisy campers, but mostly quiet at night. Showers at the Resort RV camp were great, with a very helpful host there.Certainly still a lovely lake, although there are now some relatively large boats on the lake and not all of them obeyed the 10 MPH speed limit, making canoeing more challenging. The hike up to the top of Cinder Hill was a good workout, and the view from the top is spectacular.We met the one ranger now working at Newberry Monument. She was very friendly and helpful. And we had a great time talking with other campers at the Paulina Lake hot springs.

Love the fishing, but closed bathrooms need to be fixed and the camp host needs to be active.

Overall really good experience. There were many open sites around site 96, which kept the area quiet and bathrooms clean. 96 is near the day use boat ramp, but it never felt busy or loud. Beautiful mornings and evenings on the lake.

Very nice location, we carried our kayaks 200 yards to East Lake. The site was quiet, shady almost all day. The site was very level, unusual for National Forest campground sites. Newberry Caldera has numerous trails and fascinating sites to visit. Rangers are extremely helpful, but there are few of them due to DOGE layoffs. Most are volunteersTHANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! The site was very dusty, tons of loose dust. It would benefit from a base of wood chips, but I understand, the Forest Service does not have the funds to improve it at this time.

Out of order bathrooms are the only real gripe we have, but its pretty common. Other than that, Cinderhill is all around awesome.
@KennethB453248 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #81
Nice camp ground. Restrooms are not good and no showers, there are not many sites with hookups, and there is no cell service. If you can get past those two challenges then Cinder Hill Campground is a great place to get away from the city and the heat. We love it.

This site is right at the beginning of the camp site loop on the right hand side. It is near a non flushable toilet which has a large amount of flies in the summer and is very smelly when you approach it but not at all noticeable from the site. Across are 2 flushable toilets which are much better but one was out of order during our stay. We were able to fit two large tents and one small tent along with a pop up tent for over the picnic table. It has a fire pit and parking for two vehicles. Drop box is right across from site and you can see the lake from this site. Originally booked a different site but had to modify and this was just fine. Mosquitoes were not so bad. There is lots of shade here.

Campground was very clean and well maintained. Restrooms were also very clean. Camp hosts are doing a wonderful job. Very friendly and could answer all questions We camp several times a year and the hosts here are by far the best

Beautiful campground with hiking, many interesting geological features, and kayaking on beautiful East Lake.
@Stephanie90643 · Camped on Jul 3, 2025 at Campsite #87
Be aware of the trees positioned in a way making maneuvering a trailer in and out of the site very challenging. Would not camp in this site.
@Stephanie90643 · Camped on Jul 3, 2025
Really disappointing experience. We have 25 ft trailer and although says equipment to 32 feet, there is no way to get in and out of this with the position of the trees. Pull through is a joke. We ended up having a tree shatter our window on trailer as no way to get out. Think this site should not be marked for trailers unless trees are removed. Id recommend only tent camping. Our friends at site 89 and not much better there.

4th of July weekend and there was only 1 toilet and 1 outhouse open for the whole first loop and boat launch. Had to ask the host to put more toilet paper in the one working toilet. We had a beautiful campsite!
@WaltRFA5BCEC65 · Camped on Jun 29, 2025 at Campsite #98
Had a great visit. Everyone abided by generator and noise rules. Paddle across East Lake to beach north of white slide was excellent.
@MelissaL586014 · Camped on Jun 28, 2025 at Campsite #100
The campsites are very close together. People walk through your site to get to the bathroom. Not caring that you're camping there. The camp host didn't clean or check the bathrooms for 2 days straight and then didn't supply toilet paper.The men's bathroom was completely blocked off due to clogging. Quiet times were not observed by other campers, was not enforced by a camp post. The only positive to this entire experience was the lake. It was beautiful. Over priced for being so close to.other campers with no barriers between us.

Campsite was clean and raked. Hosts were present and available but did not interfere with our time. Favorite campground!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
