Nice clean campground. We were just there overnight. Generators were not bad at all and folks were considerate. Would camp there again.

Lovely campground, very uncrowded and very clean. We really enjoyed being in the Newberry Crater NM. It was amazing!! Great paddle boarding and hiking. Gorgeous scenery.

We always enjoy Cinder Hill CG. This was our first visit for summer 2023 and it didnt disappoint. The camp hosts were doing a great job, everything seemed neat and clean, probably the best we have ever seen. Site 16 was wonderful! Nice separation/privacy and heavily forested spot. Slight incline to the parking spot, but not bad.

My family has been coming to this campground annually for four generations - since the 1950's. Obviously, it's very special to us. For the first time in anyone's memory, our vacation left a disgusting taste in our mouths because of a very rude and misguided camp host. There are two hosts in this campground. One was very nice and helpful. However, the one occupying site #23 began yelling at us for speeding as soon as we arrived. We were going over the posted 10mph but less than 15mph, as was almost everyone else I witnessed during our stay - including the rangers. 10-15mph is reasonable and safe and never been a cause for concern among the campers or hosts before. Then, in less than 30 minutes, this host tracked me down and repeatedly and demandingly interrupted me while my son and I were talking to another family. We were asking what arrangements they had made for the transfer of their non-reservable site when they left. This has been standard practice for these sites for decades. The host accused me of harassment and told me I was not to speak to anyone in any non-reservable site at any time. He said anyone interested in occupying one is to sit quietly at the edge of the site until the current occupants depart. This is absurd given that there are always multiple parties interested in moving in. Imagine the chaos when they all race for the campsite post to claim the prize. We attempted to do it the way it has always been done - by politely asking. And this is exactly the way the other camp host was managing his half of the campground, thankfully for all of those campers. In sum, if you are going to stay here this year, expect problems with this very rude and misguided host.
