site #34 is very unlevel. Not only front to back by side to side. If you have a slide not a good site as there are tree's in the straightest part of the pull through. We had a 24' trailer and barley fit because of the dual slopes. We had one side raised 5" and the front had to be lowered as far as we could and we were still not level. Loved the campground, view, host were great.

Highly recommended!! This site is right on the lake, we had a great time, sun, kayaked, and relaxed. There were no bugs, sunny and warm, strong breeze off the lake from 1-6 pm. It is a large site, very flat except a steep incline only at the last few feet at lakeshore. Several trees and bushes near lakeshore are pretty, and one smaller tree near the driveway where we parked our trailer. When reserving it, the rec.gov map makes site 20 appear quite separate from the boat ramp parking lot, but it is right next door, with a couple of small bushes in between (could have waved out the back trailer window to the trucks parked in the ramp lot). This was not a big issue, but just to add, it is not a very private site. We had set up chairs at lakeshore which was a short walk from our trailer, and our kayaks were parked on the steep shoreline while not in use. A nice perk for those who kayak. We had a small RV trailer; the driveway is a pull through, lots of room, could have fit another truck into it, we had one truck, one 20 foot trailer. The picnic table is close to the parked trailer, but the firepit is a good 40 feet away. No problem for us since we did not start a fire. There is plenty of space for tents; site has huge space of packed down pumice/dirt (well used). There were plenty of pit toilets in this CG, the host is very helpful! The nearest pit toilet is next to the host, near site 25, and was very clean! We saw several water pumps all around the CG, for those who need it, water tasted good. The nearest water faucet was just past site 25. The CG was quiet, no loud music or rowdy parties. Couple of kids were on bikes along the CG road but they were respectful. Dog owners had their pets leashed. Some truck noise from the boat ramp next door, definitely not as issue (and these anglers were quiet while getting their boats into the water in the early morning hours). Highly recommend this site! Hope this is helpful to you!

Site 40 & 41 are right on top of each other. We stayed in 40. Over the years the trees have been thinned (it happens and is needed) The issue is in the photos, they are old and do not show very well that the Camp tables for these two sites are now about 10 feet from each other. You better really like your neighbor as these two sites are now effectively a double site. I will certainly be back to Newberry. It is a magical place, but I will never stay in site 40 again, unless I book with another family I know and then getting 40 and 41 together would be great.

We enjoy the peace and quiet we experience while camping at Little Crater Campground. Paulina Lake is a beautiful place to spend a long summer weekend with multiple hiking, biking and water activities available for people of all ages and abilities.

This is a really nice campground located on the far end of Paulina Lake. The hiking trail around the lake runs through the campground with easy access to a couple other hiking trails as well. The sites on the lake front are prime, but the sites across the road are nice as well. There are just two single-stall restrooms serving the entire campground, so they can get busy and fresh water is from a central pump. Cell service is extremely limited.

I love this place. I was surprised that there wasnt a campground host. Without a host, it is highly likely that people will abuse the campground. Like they did in many California Parks during Covid.

This campsite is fantastic!!! There are only pit toilets so be ready for that. It is a great site right on the lake. I would 100% camp here again!

We went up to see the site and loved it, sadly the Newberry and Mt Bachelor fires started up and made it too smoky to go.We love Little Crater area though and will try again

Beautiful sites, beautiful setting, campers were respectful, campground hosts were super helpful, friendly and professional. Got my site quickly moved to another once we realized that my 30ft trailer wouldnt fit!

Area is clean, quiet, beautiful, and we'll managed by the hosts. Boat launches in excellent condition. Sites are good size, level and private.

We had 2 camp dates Aug 25-29 and 9/2. We stayed 8/25-27 and then left and went home because the experience was horrible. we have stayed here multiple times and this was the worst ever. We had our pontoon boat with us. The area that is designated for boat launching and PARKING is not being supervised and there were vehicles parked there that were using the area for kayak/paddle boards. it was a mess. We had to ask people to get the kayaks, some were young children that you couldn't see when you were back down, off the ramp so we could launch and it was an argument. THIS BOAT AREA NEEDS TO BE MORE CLEARLY MARKED THAT IT IS FOR BOATS ONLY. We shouldn't have to encounter that.The campground had an ATV speeding thru it with a young child, no helmet on. loud music from a campsite, that had so much pot being smoked we could smell it. Dogs barking continually. It was not the calm experience we hoped for. WE SPOKE WITH THE SHERIFF WHO WAS THERE THE DAY WE LEFT HE AGREED THAT MORE NEEDS DONE, AS THEY ARE TIRED OF HAVING TO RUN THEM OFF ALSO. FINES NEED TO BE ENFORCED. ALSO THE CAMP HOST WAS OFF ON MON/TUES SO EVERYONE JUST DID WHAT EVER THEY WANTED ON THOSE DAY...SOMEOME NEEDS TO BE THERE 24/7 TO CONTAIN THE ILLEGAL ACTIVITY. I WANT A FULL REFUND ....MY VACATION WAS COMPLETELY RUINED. WE DIDN'T EVEN RETURN FOR THE ONE ON 9/2

Lovely campground with everything you need. Hiked the loop counterclockwise and stopped for a dip in hot springs. Very peaceful, relaxing, not too crowded and clean. The camp host with helpful and attentive. I was at spot 38 which was right next to the bathroom and water so I pulled my car back into the space to block the view of the outhouse. Variety of spots open and a mix of either on the lake or near the trees. We visited The Obsidian Flow which is super close and highly recommend a stop there. Looking forward to a return visit in the future. Such lovely nature and medicine that I will hold in my heart as we go into fall. PS- super super cold at night so I recommend extra extra blankets and layers to stay warm.

Two or three large ponderosa pines had been cut down and just left on the campsite. What a mess! Hoping they will be removed eventually, because it only left a small area (by the road) to place our tent. The sites aren't very private and the camp hosts evidently don't enforce the quiet time rules as there were about 15 people in two sites across from us partying well into the night. :(

Another wonderful 4 night trip here. Stayed on site 42, there was a bit of an uneven curb to bump down from the camp road but manageable. We had amazing views and sunsets over the lake, lovely large site but no trees nearby for the hammock. The pit toilers were as clean as pit toilets can be!! It was a full campground as we drove in, which made the camp road narrow and a little tricky to pass other vehicles. We loved hiking and paddleboarding the lake. The hot springs are just hot dirt and water pits full of bugs but still worth a visit. I will always come back to this camp ground

We were bummed the campground was left a mess from the cut trees. Would of been nice to have the spots cleaned up.Also, it was high fire danger ( no campfire signs everywhere) we saw at least WOOD campfires every niteThe camp hosts were pretty much non existent.i did talk to a Ranger who advised me to tell the hosts. Idont usually complain but being from prineville when its red flag warning, no fires mean no fires. I get it ( non ember) fires are ok, but wood fires with sparks, come on!Out of staters of course, rules dont matter.Otherwise it was great weather, great fishing and great friends.

It was our first time camping here, we are local though and so excited to return! The campground was beautiful and the bathrooms were cleaner than any Ive ever used while camping! It was nice and quiet even though our site was near the boat dock. We had a small thunderstorm move through in the evening and the sunset was fantastic afterword. We would highly recommend camping here!

We enjoyed our stay in spot 24! It is a pull through driveway so plenty of space for multiple cars. The site was pretty open with minimal trees so not a ton of shade but a beautiful view of the lake! The lake is down a short but steep embankment from the site so not the smoothest water access but very doable! Nice hiking trails accessible right from the campground.
@Nathaniel79287 · Camped on Jul 28, 2024 at Campsite #15
The lake was beautiful!Lots of interesting oddities; obsidian sand, hot springs, volcanic monument, etc.The camp hosts were completely unavailable with a sign that said "off duty" for our entire four day trip. I guess they must have been out in the lake fishing or something the entire time we were there. So don't expect the camp hosts to be helpful or even available.We had a wonderful time!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
