You can hear and see the road from #27 and it faces day-use parking lot, but the traffic is very light (none at night) so it wasn't an issue. On the plus side it is far away from other sites and close to the boat launch. We used the vault toilets for the day-use area and they were very clean. The East Lake Resort is nearby and has good food and picturesque outdoor seating. We paddled on the lake, hiked Big Obsidian Flow and around Paulina lake.

I tried booking 6 months out to get a site at this camp ground on recreation.gov and had zero luck, some good ol boys have the system pegged. I seen several of the waterfront sites with reservation tags on the site, and no one at the site for days on end.. just site hogs who booked everything 6 months out. Hey Moore’s at site 5, your a piece of work, go live out of your car somewhere…. You don’t need to tie a site up for 14 days not to use it! A holes like you are the problem….

We've been here numerous times with the kids and have always loved it. They're weren't that many people and we got to fish with the kids. The hiking was great and everyone was so friendly. We'll be back.

Great campground with large sites on and off the lake. Lake front sites have wind while those back from the lake are more calm. Forest Service is managing the site and doing a nice job. Fishing, Kyaking, paddle boarding, swimming, hikeing.
