The Longleaf Group sites are GREAT!I was camping with scouts and we had a really good time. There is plenty of room for tents and hammocks.

Basic campground. Short walk from the parking area. No water or electricity so bring your own. There is a dual outhouse next to the parking area. Campground was pretty quiet except for air traffic to the nearby airportnot all night long, though. If you like darkness & animal sounds, this is the campground for you. I will return!

I have camped here multiple times. Nice little get away. Sites are always clean, no trash in firepit. Love that you can just hike from campsite to trails, and not have to fight for parking spot at building.

Nice individual campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and pole with two hooks to hang food / trash. Plenty of space. Walkway from the parking lot to the sites is quite level, which made it easy to roll our supplies to the site using a cart for ease. Toilets had TP and hand sanitizer and were as nice as a pit toilet can be. Recycling and trash receptacles are also available in the parking lot.

I had site 3. The site itself is fine, but all the sites in this area (1-5), except maybe 4 lack any real privacy. Site 4s access is a little path between 2 and 3, so it feels like somebody is walking through Site 3 anytime to/fro Site 4. The campground is not car accessible per se. You must carry your stuff in a short distance on a gravel dirt path from the parking lot. For the furthest sites, maybe 300 yards. The campground is located about 1/3 mile from the park entrance off of the main road. Most of the sites are within eyesight of the parking lot for the campground. The toilets (pit) are too few in my opinion. 1 stall for each for men and women and no water for washing afterwards. More toilets are at the Visitors Center that flush and have water, but they are about 1/4 mile hike or drive away. There is also no water (potable) at the campground. I knew this, just wanted others to be aware.I have camped out hundreds of nights and this campground, in my opinion, is not up to the US National Park standards. Its okay for a night, but it really wasnt a good park experience for Congaree as it was on the edge of it and not really immersed in the true park settings. The whole campground surrounds an open field on three sides with the 4th the parking lot and road. You are barely into the woods. I cant really see staying here more than 1 night.

We had a great time at the Longleaf Campground. Easy access, lot of room for our tents and suppliers. Has a fire pit and picnic table. We had a great time.

It was a beautiful campsite but very noisy. We were across the pond from the group sites and could still hear the music, dancing, and yelling until way past 11 pm over 100 yards away. There's no ranger to call to complain about all of the noise so I finally had to call the sheriffs office in Hopkins to see if someone would go over and tell the crowd of over 50 indians to keep quiet. The sheriff's office asked if they can come talk to me about the situation and I said sure he can come over as I was laying down in the tent trying to put my kids down for the night. I suggested just to drive into the main area and open the door and follow the music. Nothing happened and we noticed a group of campers coming into the campsite next to us at 3 am. It would have been nice to have law enforcement there to back us up but next time I won't bother calling. I'll go over there myself and handle it! Oh and forget the barred owls and coyotes... They ran for cover and I couldn't even hear any animals.

The campground was easy to get to. Quiet. The sites were very spacious complete with tent pad, fire ring and picnic table. Trails connecting the campground to the visitors center. Would definitely camp again when visiting Congaree National Park.

This campground isn't big, so definitely reserve your site well ahead of time. Okay, so yes, there are lots of mosquitoes, so plan accordingly. No water, no problem - we brought a 5g jug and it was more than enough for our three days in the park. Plenty of deadfall around the campsites for a fire in the fire ring, so we didn't buy any local firewood. The sites had two or three areas to pitch tents, so you can choose your spot for the tent, depending on size. The coolest part of the campground was the abundance of wildlife. We heard barred owls, bobcat, an abundance of other birds overnight. You could see the eyes of all the spiders in the pine needles at night reflecting the light from our headlamps. There had to be thousands of them feasting on the mosquitoes and other bugs. It was awesome! If you truly want to experience Congaree National Park, then you absolutely need to spend a night or more in Longleaf Campground to take in the true sounds and feels of the park at night. Congaree is a wonderful ecosystem, and the campground gets you closest to it in ways you can't understand until you do it!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
