Chuck (in office) was very helpful. He was great. A couple of the outside workers were also great, they came and cut the grass around our camper. A woman in the office just told me the grass cutters would be there in a week. The grass was pretty tall. Other than that, I love that place and will be back.

I always enjoy visiting this campground. It is generally well maintained and if you have any issues they are attended to in a timely manner. Your campsites are roomy and youre not crowded even when the park is relatively full. I love watching the wildlife and I often tell people about this park and I highly recommend it.

This is a very nice place to camp and enjoy yourself. The lake is beautiful, and the campgrounds well maintained. We have been here many times and will keep coming back. I think the only issue I saw was the trees at many spots need to be trimmed back. We have a 45 ft 5tth wheel and have had scratches done by the overhanging trees for the parking spots.

Kids we locked inside cabin. Could not unlock door. Had to climb out window and pry the door open.

What is not to like. The lake is at 70%. The swimming with the grandboys was excellent. The water was clear and cool. The sun was out. The site are not too close. The deer would visit every evening. The birds would chirp every morning and evening. The Texas skies gave us vivid sunsets and later, starry skies. In the evenings the owls would have a "hoot" contest at opposites edges of a huge oak tree and the fireflies were in full force. The only thing missing was no meteor showers on this trip.

A beautiful tree filled large campsite was available with short notice, along the shoreline. The prevailing south wind kept things wonderful when in the shade, on a late June visit.

My site had a shelter and I loved it, poked my meals in it. Had a nice breeze with no bugs. There are a couple of beach/swim areas, the water was nice. Coleman has some really good restaurants and unique downtown area. I have lived in Abilene for close to 40 years and never knew there was such a gem this close to me. I will definitely be back.

We had a great weekend at Hords Creek Lake. We stayed on Lakeside so we would have full RV hook-ups. The staff at the park were extremely helpful and very friendly. We look forward to coming back for another weekend.

All was very nice, EXCEPT, we have been going to Hords Creek Lake for over 40 years, this is the first time EVER, we got chiggers, on us and on our dogs, dont understand what the deal is???Lack of funds to spray? Lack of folks to spray?

Clean and quiet. The space we had, had full hookup. We always take corn to feed the deer. Some of them will eat from your hand.

The campground was very nice. Couldn't ask for a nicer place. Park rangers very helpful and experienced. I would like to add that the reservation part is not the best. Recration.gov- reservation site is not accurate at all concerning Sewage Hookups. Your web site shows 14 places with sewer hookups when the park actually has 29. Whoever set up the reservation program did not know what they were doing, they were very incompetent or they did not have accurate information when making the site information.

Hordes creek lake is exceptionally clean and well ordered. Staff were friendly and efficient. The other campers were well behaved and camps clean and orderly. Would highly recommend this park

We love the site, the grass does need to be mowed around the playground, ended up with chiggers.
@EarlE870420C3D · Camped on May 23, 2025 at Campsite #T51
Grass did need mowing prior to the holiday, lots of kids playing in tall grass, it was mowed after the holiday but should have been before when park was full of campers

This is a nice place for a quiet getaway. There are several play areas for kids, but not much really for them to do outside the water. We enjoy it as our adult family time spot.

We love coming to Hordes Creek Lakeside to camp! We try to pull our 5th wheel, as often as possible, to Lakeside. The gate guards are always so nice, friendly and helpful.
@Trampas9098BCD · Camped on May 13, 2025 at Campsite #T76
Fire pit was completely full of ashes. It had not been mowed. We was out there 4 days and not a single bite fishing. The moss was so bad that you could not get in the water. Was really frustrated do to the kids not having anything to do. We left a day early.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
