So wonderful to see the lake was lapping at the edges of the campsite's once again! This place is so serene and quiet, especially at night, totally dark skies. Watched the almost full moon come up from the horizon and it was awesome to see. Lots and lots of tame deer that come right up to your camp site and hang out grazing and are not afraid of sharing this fabulous place with humanoids. Love the nature aspect of this! Staff is so friendly too. A great place to bicycle around with no traffic but be warned, some of the hills are pretty steep in places so be ready to for a workout in case you're not on an ebike! The cell reception isn't too good there and the bathrooms have a bit to be desired but they furnish showers and restrooms for those of us that don't have full hookup. Just wish the clean up crews did a better job of knocking down the mud dobber nests in the shower area's and spraying for bugs. The town of coleman is a delight to visit for everything you need. Sad that the Shoppin Basket is going to be bought out soon. They have the best Bigg's fried chicken ever! Spent 5 nights here and can't wait till we get the opportunity to come back in the near future! Oh and the bike ride up to the dam and back is totally worth it. Hopefully one day we will catch one of those huge fish that keeps jumping out of the water taunting us! Overall, this is just an enormous treasure of a place to visit and COE has it set up so nice!

Very spacious site. Very peaceful experience. Very few campers!!! We spent a week in the campground Apr 15th to the 22nd. It was like having the whole campground to ourselves. Rode our e-bikes around and over to the otherside of the lake. That campground was still closed. Sadly the lake was extremely low, probably from the drought of the last couple years. No need to lower the water level during the winter months. I expect it'll take quite some time to get the water level back to normal. This has curtailed the boating activity to nothing!

We stayed 2 nights over thanksgiving in a 36 travel trailer. There was extra parking directly across from our site to park the truck. This site was level and very shady with only the front of our camper getting sun in the evening. The picnic table area was clean and very spacious with lots of trees. Amazingly, there were no stickers in the grass anywhere. We had dogs and friends in the next site so we spent plenty of time walking in the grass. The only downside was the bathroom was more of a driving distance than walking and didnt have a sink to wash your hands. Overall the park was clean and extremely well kept. We not only recommend it but plan to be back.

Good morning shade but afternoon not so much and it was a hot weekend. Quiet loop where I was. Lots of deer and birds. Grocery store in Coleman has nicely priced groceries.
