Lake was low, sites had not been mowed in a while. Bathrooms clean. Site was shaded in the mornings but caught the full force of the afternoon sun. Level. Plenty of wildlife. Recommend the Owl Drug in Coleman, great food and cokes made from scratch.

The lake is really low. I am wishing COE a would come do a clean out while it is dry. Yes I said DRY! It is that bad! I like the campsite we had 63.! I must, we stay there a lot. I wont ever be staying in site 69 any more! Bad things happened to me the two times we stayed there. I suffered a bad leg injury on my trip to town. Stepped out of the car twisted. A ligament that put me down for a solid 3 weeks! Not allowed to drive myself NO where. It is all better now.

From check in until I left for home was so nice! I have stayed many times. But this was the first time I stayed by myself. This was a just me trip.
It was wonderful!

This is my favorite ACE campground. What I love are the wide open spaces with wildflowers, beautiful oak trees, and wildlife. Campsites are close together but that does not bother us. We has descent internet with my AT&T hotspot. It was good enough to stream YouTube TV and handle a laptop and a couple of iPads. Lake was only 29% full so all fishing docks except 1 were closed. Most boat ramps were closed but there may have been 1 open somewhere. Call the facility to confirm your needs before booking is my recommendation. Shower and toilets were ok at best. Owl Pharmacy is a must see for lunch counter and old fashioned soda drinks.

We stay at the Lakeside (Hords Creek) area as an overnight spot that is half way from our home in Kansas to Pharr, TX. the camping area is clean, accessible for large RV (36+) and has electric, water and sewer, all for the low price of $30.00 per night. That is phenomenal in todays out of control inflation!!!! I would like to spend more time hanging out there and relaxing, it seems like really pretty campground and area. Do stop there, it's a pretty little place! Teresa

Everything thing was wonderful except for the tall grass at the camp site. Rain did cause the grass to spring up!

Quiet, clean, electric when we needed it. Very pretty lake and grounds. This was a stop over on our way to South Texas, but would spend more time there in the future now that we know about it. Very easy to check in. There's also a great Pizzeria in downtown Colman (15 minute drive) to top off the evening. Thanks!!!

A very nice #63 full level hookup site with 50 amp service. Views of the lake. Shaded with a live oak cluster on the door side. Shower house/trash dumpsters less than 100 yds if needed. Very nice park attendants. 8 miles into Coleman for any grocery/fuel needs.

The lake is always beautiful. The one complaint I have is the plumbing needs to be repaired. I wish there was better cell service. We are going to try a booster next time we go.

Always enjoyable, nice clean park, lots of deer. Only downside is being in Texas, they are too often under a burn ban in Coleman county, so no campfire.

What a gem!! Love the full hookups and pull thru sites- lots of trees and very scenic. Still lots of sky access for those with satellite. We really enjoyed our stay here!

I loved the site. It is a very good site. ONE thing I want to point out...I told someone "You aren't suppose to park on the grass. I said the sign at the entrance to the park states. Stay on paved road only." The man told me that he thought that was for driving. I said, NO it is for your wheels all the time. So you may want to address this nationwide maybe with that simple sign "No Parking on the Grass" Because some folks just do not understand the other sign. But, the Gate Attendants we have had the last few years are great. Thanks for providing us with such a wonderful place to spend our free time.
