Finding that COE PARKS has no consistency whatsoever in one park will not let you in until a designated time others have a gate guards and some has no gate guard at all. The grass was extremely high close to river saw several snakes near a large wood pile. Ant beds near the electrical pedestal. The entrance was mowed but pass the entrance and RV sites had not been mowed in some time.

Grass was well over 1 tall and there were broken tree branches everywhere. Clean the place up before opening sections please!!! Raise the rental cost a couple of bucks to pay for it if necessary but we should not have to bring our own lawn mowers to cut the grass just to walk to see our friends.

I have been to this park several times with a group we camp with often. We love the park for quick get-a-ways with it being close to home. On this trip, we had the clear dead tree limbs from our sites, and then we had to mow the four spots we had booked because the grass was so tall. The park attendant said there was some issue with the contract for the grass cutting. After we mowed our spots and got camp set up, we constantly heard tree limbs breaking off and falling to the ground around us, which caused concern for the large dead limbs above the RV's, and the fact that we were all sitting under the shade of the trees. I don't think I have ever been on a camping trip where we had to discuss and escape plan if you hear tree limbs breaking above you.

We had a great trip here for 4 nights. Grass had been mowed. River was full. Even caught a couple of nice catfish. Had campfire the whole time. Only drawback was the construction & road noise. But not unbearable. Will definately stay here again.

Need gravel in picnic areas when wet it turns into a mud puddle
@PaulC8096585 · Camped on Nov 29, 2024 at Campsite #35
Could use more gravel in camp area keep out mud other than that beautiful park well managed

The campsite was level and roomy. Two other couples camped in nearby campsites and we all enjoyed our time. The camp host was friendly and answered questions we had about nearby buildings. The only downside was the noise from the construction on the bridge over the river. That is not the fault of the park and we will be back.

The place is clean but my spot didn't have much flat ground. The people that ran the park was nice. But the traffic on 174 is noisy if you don't have something to drown it out. It's worse right now because people Want to use it as a drag strip.

Its dangerous to maneuver through the park with a 5th wheel. The tree limbs are so low in places that it makes it impossible to miss them all and risk the possibility of damaging your 5th wheel roof as well as sides and windows. Most of the sites are even lower than the main road limbs. This adds another risk as you are backing into the sites. The mowers leave a lot to be desired. We came out the day after they cut the grass and it was still over the ankle throughout the park.

We have had many times at Kimball. This one was really good. The weather weather was great....end of July and under 90 degrees. So many tent campers. So many families enjoying the resources there. It made my heart feel good!!!

The site we booked hadn't been mowed in who know how long. The area that our RV was to be parked on was completely obscured by grass and weeks that were 8 inches tall at least. The area around the site and under the picnic table cover were also overgrown to the point that walking in them would be a risk to insect bites and snakes would have a great place to hide. The park rangers blamed the Corp for hiring contractors that poorly maintained the sites for campers. The only sites that were mowed were ones that campers themselves had brought in mowers and weed-eaters to clean up themselves. The area around the dump station had weeds that were knee high ( I am 5'6" for reference). It is ridiculous that the park had not been prepared for a holiday weekend stay.

May have been because this was the only Army Corp park open after the April May, June weather events, but park was crowded, that's not awful but their was a group that moored boats right near the camp played music talked loudly and raced the boat motors until 3AM, I'm sure the entire park could hear

Site 25 has a beautiful view of the lake. Really liked that each campsite has a covered picnic table. There is a nice playground for kids. The boat ramp is closed and there is not a swimming area. There are 4 individual bathrooms with showers. The bathrooms were decent. I wish there was a more secure way to get into the park. Anyone can drive into the park as there was not a gate. One other things that can be improved is the gravel driveways for the campsites. Weeds have overgrown. When it rained the place was very muddy.

Beautiful location for the 2024 eclipse. Surprised to find this has far more than standard federal site: electricity and water at sites, four individual bathrooms with showers, and dump station. Some noise in April 2024 with bridge reconstruction nearby but not terrible. Boat ramp closed due to construction but you can still put in kayaks from water edge. Peaceful and beautiful slice of history here.

Kimbel Bend Park was nice enough with plenty of potential. The sites were large and each had a metal shelter. Two issues detracted from the experience. Lack of maintenance and the shower rooms. The grass was so tall. The hosts said the grass was cut every 4 weeks. We question that as the grass was tall when we arrived and other campers said it was long when they arrived. And it was still untouched when we left 3 weeks later. The four toilet/shower rooms did not have lights in them. So daytime use only or bring your own light. There was a worker that came through a couple times a week. One time she swept cob webs off the shelters of a few sites. Another time she moves a few metal fire rings around. The shower rooms were never cleaned and the grass was 6 to 8 inches tall in many places.

Boat ramp and bridge are still not done but besides that a very nice park.

Spring break and grass was not mowed - we had to do it ourselves. Bathrooms did not have hot water, and no toilet paper. I was very disappointed in our stay there - it is usually a great park but not this time

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
