Bathrooms were clean. The showers are located at a nearby campsite and were available from 8am - 2pm. Its a 1 mile walk to a very quiet beach. It was really quiet at night. We could see the stars every night. Most sites were fairly private.

We have stayed at Waxmrytle Campground for the last 4 years. We always have a wonderful time. There is potable water and flushing toilets. We plan on going again next year.

I love this place, my kids and I go every year. Discovered it by accident, but it's a quite tucked away place right up from the beach and LOTS of things to do close by. Don't forget there are showers at Drift Wood 2!

This was our second stay at Waxmyrtle and it was even better than last time. The camp host was WONDERFUL! Very welcoming and informative about the area, even suggesting places we should check out/eat. The only things we didnt care for were due to disrespectful campers setting off fireworks and allowing their dogs to bark for hours. Tip: Make sure you take time to put away ALL food items. There are large and small critters that frequent the campground.

I love Waxmyrtle! It is small, quiet, and located near the ocean, with access to nearby rivers and lakes for kayaking. I've stayed here many times. The only drawback is that nearby is a campground for Dune Buggies and ATVs, and sometimes they run all night. Which is extremely loud.

Our camp host was the best ever! Weve been coming to this campground for family reunions for over 60 years (now 4th generation)

Site was beautiful, shaded all around, convenient hiking

Lovely campground. Its usually fairly quiet because there are no ATVs or RV hookups here.

Nice quiet park.

Love this site! Only about a .75 walk through beautiful forest to the deserted beach where elephant seals were lounging around. It's unfortunate that OHVs sometimes make a lot of noise. Honestly, they should be banned outright from all public land. But otherwise, this is a perfect camping spot, especially if you choose your site wisely. The proximity to Florence is another plus.

The sink in the men's bathroom was out of order. The water spigot nearest our camp site did not work. Site 13. Otherwise everything was good. Neat and clean. Nice hike to the beach.

The camp host was amazing and personable. Mens room faucet was broken. Wish the campground sold firewood and would consider putting in a small boat ramp for putting in/taking out kayaks and paddle boards.

Sunday night in middle of July, no crowds, however noise from dune buggies clearly heard and annoying ..
@Christian88024 · Camped on Jul 11, 2025 at Campsite #25
The sites are very close, some only separated by a small wooden fence with clear visibility of your neighbors. If you're lucky enough to have decent neighbors, this may not be an issue. If you're interested in visiting the dunes, I highly recommend Torex. They're nearby and super professional about the entire experience. Florence is always fun to visit, and if you're traveling north on the 101 the next several towns are just as cool.

Very mellow mid week.

Nice campground with close-ish access to the beach. Very short drive, not too long of a walk via the trail. Campsites are a little close together but not too much of an issue. Our site, 15, didnt have the best spots to pitch a tent on but we made do. Bathrooms were clean and supplied and theres water conveniently located nearby. Never had an interaction with the camp host and theres no firewood or ice for sale so you have to go elsewhere for that. Other than a few minor things above its a great campground that was really quiet for July and enjoyable attractions nearby.

Nice campground overall, but every year the experience deteriorates slightly (been coming here for last 4 years). Bathroom lights don't work, more and more water spigots out of commission, recycling service discontinued. Still an overall pleasant camping experience.

Quiet and clean campground. Sites are a little close but we enjoyed our stay

Great sites with friendly host. Choose carefully as some are not level. Sites 2, 3 and 4 are back in wonderful sites. Especially #2

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
