This campground really exceeded my expectations! Traveled as a mom and two boys ages 6 and 11 and felt safe and also not too crowded. Camp host is very nice! Sites aren't right on the water, but a short walk away which was not a problem. Its hidden in a gully, off the road a bit from the highway

Bring fishing rods. Kern river is a walking distance to any site at this campground. The most peaceful campground I have ever stayed at. People were so respectful of quiet hours. Camp host was super friendly.

Loved our site. It had shade, flat area for tent, short walk to the toilet and the river! Couldn't use the fire pit because of fire danger but still enjoyed it! Will definitely go again!

Loved our campsite, good amount of shade, cool granite rocks to climb on and a short walk to the BR! The terrain is beautiful, with oak trees, pines, and the Kern River only a short walk away!

The campground is pretty with large granite boulders and river running through. It is a beautiful place. However, timing will either make or break your experience here. This site is cursed with city people who insist on playing obnoxious music at all hours. Our experience had 5 different groups competing to dominate with their music volume. The sites are close together, and the sites on the uphill side will dominate for sound. There was an abundance of large groups their to party, drink, and blast music. Not my idea of camping.The camp host did attempt to stop the music at 10pm. However, people hear him coming with his gas powered golfcart, they stop their music, and they restart it once he is gone. Also, the hosts site is far enough away that he doesn't hear the music from his site. Unfortunately, I will not return to this site.Another comment is that Remington Hot Springs is only 5-10 minutes away. We visited the location which was also a negative experience. There were a lot of people, many of which were drinking at 11am, and trash everywhere. There were soiled diapers in the bushes, beer cans and bottles laying around, and the worst was graffiti on some of the boulders in the river. So sad to see people mistreat the great outdoors this way.

This campground was easy to find and runs near a creek. Unfortunately, we did not end up setting up camp and staying the night. When we pulled into the campground a medium sized unleashed dog ran up to our car jumping, barking and growling and following our vehicle. Apparently this was the hosts dog. He did not make any attempt to contain the dog and told us that eventually the dog would stop. We were told our campsite was not ready yet, so we looped around the campground and noticed that there was only one other group of campers there (at our site). The campground being completely empty and having a loose aggressive dog off leash running around the campground made us very uncomfortable, so we decided not to camp there.

We had booked a site online and had no idea that it wasn't accessible by a vehicle. The camp host helped us select another site that we could use our camper van on. He had indicated that the website doesn't describe the sites correctly, which was annoying, but we were so fortunate the there were other spots available and we really appreciated how accommodating and welcoming the camp host was.

Kenny was the best camp host! The vault toilets were clean and stocked with TP. He made himself available for parking passes and a joy to deal with. Perfect camping trip!

Loved the spot we were able to snagged due to so many people canceling their reservation, plus it was a super hot weekend as well. Site 22 had plenty of space and we were right next to the lake! Definitely recommend. I originally had site 34, and I didnt realize how small it was for my group plus 2 dogs. Thanks to the park ranger for helping us out. We were closer to the restroom which is a plus for me. Overall, my first experience at the campground was wonderful and we had a blast! Will plan for another camping trip but in the cooler weather!

nice access to river. You can hear the cars at night off the 178. picnic tables at each camp site are completely beaten and need replacing 10 years ago. camp site we were at 19 - had enough flat room for 10x10 tent max.

We had site 24, and it is not a whole lot of space, but we made do. It's great for 2 campers, but we had 5. There *is* one little secluded spot for your tent, but the rest of the space is pretty small and very close to another camp site. We were close to the river and bathrooms, a plus for sure. Overall it's a nice campground, good river access, clean (as clean as vault toilets can get) bathrooms, and a super friendly host. We had a blast.

Such a nice place and really friendly host. Too bad we were there only one night for stopover, kids and us would have loved to stay around for longer. So nice there was some wood in the fire place thank you!

Friendly, safe campground with great access to river and nearby attractions. Unfortunately you can hear occasional sounds from the highway across the river.
@CherylP9442921 · Camped on Apr 11, 2025 at Campsite #22
The campground is kept up beautifully by the very friendly and helpful campground host. The host is easily accessable. Campsite 22 is a spacious campsite on the Kern and well suited for a trailer. While on the campsite map it doesnt look like campsite 21 is close to 22 they are super close so you can hear a pin drop from the neighboring site and therefore it ruins the camping experience for both parties in these sites.
@YiHsuanH553698 · Camped on Apr 5, 2025 at Campsite #20
The campground is beautiful and clean. I like the spacing in between different sites. The host is very friendly! The restrooms are very clean as well.

This spot was perfect for a spot to unplug and reconnect with nature. There is a state highway close to the camp, but it doesnt generate much noise. Site 13 offers a hammock-able spot, shade, close access to a water spigot, and is within walking distance of the vault toilets. Kenny the host was very kind. I suggest traveling into the Lake Isabella area and checking out the local scenery too. Just 5 minutes outside camp you can reach cell reception. I will DEFINITELY be returning.

Great campground, the sites are large, with a dedicated tent pad, and the sites are far in-between

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
