The campground is pretty with large granite boulders and river running through. It is a beautiful place. However, timing will either make or break your experience here. This site is cursed with city people who insist on playing obnoxious music at all hours. Our experience had 5 different groups competing to dominate with their music volume. The sites are close together, and the sites on the uphill side will dominate for sound. There was an abundance of large groups their to party, drink, and blast music. Not my idea of camping. The camp host did attempt to stop the music at 10pm. However, people hear him coming with his gas powered golfcart, they stop their music, and they restart it once he is gone. Also, the hosts site is far enough away that he doesn't hear the music from his site. Unfortunately, I will not return to this site.Another comment is that Remington Hot Springs is only 5-10 minutes away. We visited the location which was also a negative experience. There were a lot of people, many of which were drinking at 11am, and trash everywhere. There were soiled diapers in the bushes, beer cans and bottles laying around, and the worst was graffiti on some of the boulders in the river. So sad to see people mistreat the great outdoors this way.

Not a campground you are thinking of! Sandy Flat Campground is one of the worst campgrounds we have ever seen!!! The grounds looked well kept and clean. That is it for the pros!!!Now the Cons:We made reservations in July for a shady, level site. When we arrived our site was shady (but not where you had to set up your tent) and not anything close to level!!!. The management comment wasthe campground is next to the riverSite was basically unusable. No where level . The pitch of the site we did not even get to.Utilities (water, electric) was so far away I would need a 20 run. Plus it was all up hill. The staff was pretty useless as well and told us the site is fine. They also advertise carrier servicesdont believe it.So we made arrangements at another resort and left as it was unusable. We were told we would be charged two night stay and a cancellation fee. What ????? For a site we could not use???? Nor could anyone else. It was not what we were led to believe we had reserved. We talked to Recreation.gov and shared our concern, and they said to wait for campground responses, but they did not even reply to your email!!!I would not stay here again.

Great spot, tucked away from everyone else. Not much bugs when we visited. It's a few steps away from the river and restrooms. The camp host was friendly and accommodated when he could. I saw him help out these kids that had car issues. Lent his gas generator to try and start their vehicle. Good guy. This place is in a valley so sound echoes. It's never the place, it's always the people that are sometimes annoying. I don't see the point of camping and then getting drunk to the point that you're just being nuisance to everyone else. If you want to party go to a club! It was awesome because everyone at the camp started telling people to shut up around midnight, two hours after quiet time. Great group effort. Be considerate to your neighbors, human, animals and nature!
