I caution myself from writing such a great review that I will never be able to get a spot at Big Bend again. Where to start. First off when we arrived, we were ushered in through the gate by Fall decorations. That followed by a warm greeting from the camp hosts, Rick and Tomiko (I sure hope I am spelling your name right, please forgive me if I am not). Cheerful and obviously caring about how our trip in was. Also about how our stay will be. While we were checking in, others stopped by just to say hi to the hosts. Everyone was friendly. Now onto the campgrounds. We pulled into our site and in all my camping I had not seen a better kept grounds as I did here. Not so manicured that it killed our connection to nature, but obvious care and pride in keeping the grounds up. The restrooms and bathhouse were in great condition. The trails were all kept clean. Just not a single complaint from a two night stay. Now something embarrassing for me is I woke up the following morning to find the battery on my truck was faulty and Rick without hesitation came and gave me a jump. He also pointed me towards Petersburg, where I could get another battery. Turned what could have been a horrible day into a great day with a nice trip through Petersburg. We met the nice folks at the local Napa. Very nice people. Struck up a good conversation with Rick and his Tomiko and found out some back story and how much heart and soul has gone into their love for Big Bend. On the way out they even gave us a recommendation for a place to as we were driving through Petersburg. A place called Cheetah Bs. I highly recommend this joint as well. Great food, just as described. I cant say thank you enough to those two for making our stay extra special. They are the best hosts I have ever come across. We will be back soon as I think I have found my home away from home. (Just a note to Tomiko - we made it home safely)I highly recommend you book a stay here, but please leave a site open for me

Tamiko and Rick have done wonders with the campground! So many improvements and the cleanliness was top notch. The entry road has been regraded and its the smoothest it has been in my past 5 years of camping in Big Bend. They ensured we had a safe and comfortable stay and even helped a neighboring camper patch their flat tire. We look forward to coming in October for another great stay.

Big Bend campground was absolutely perfect! I definitely recommend getting a site near the river- where a short path leads you right to it. Bring tubes- it is SO beautiful to float and the mini rapids were very fun. There was a store about four miles away with just about anything you could need for camping which was super convenient. The camp managers were welcoming and helpful. Seneca was about a 50 minute drive away which was perfect. We will definitely be back!

This campground was great for our family. It was extremely clean and the hosts were happy to help with anything we needed. We will definitely be back, especially if this years hosts are there next year.

This is a wonderful campground. I love that there are walking trails and options to get into the water on the site. A lot of people came with inflatables so they could float in the water and I wish we'd had one! The campground managers were really nice and helpful, and the campground's amenities are easy to access and in good shape. This one is really far away from things (little to no cell phone reception) but that was just great as far as my family was concerned. It's easy enough to drive out for supplies or visit well-known hiking spots in the area.

The host were friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful campground and access to the river for floating is easy.

I've been going here for over 30 years. They have new management. It's remote with no cell coverage. The nearby store has free wifi now. Great for tubing, there's a rope swing for the brave. Camp sites are neat and tidy. Always a great atmosphere and happy campers.

We have been camping at Big Bend for over 10 years. It is an amazing place to camp with family and friends. Clean, quiet, private, and awesome tubing opportunities! The new park hosts are beyond wonderful! They went above and beyond to help us out wihen our generator ran out all our fuel. Really nice folks!

We love Big Bend Campground. It's a quiet campground with clean facilities and no cell service (which for us, is amazing). The camp hosts are super friendly and available for questions as needed. We tent camp, and feel there is enough space between campsites that you don't hear everything going on around you. The lower river side campsites are lovely, but we've stayed in the upper campsites and enjoyed our time there as well. Bring a tube for tubing around the bend. Plenty of fish to be pursued as well.

Campground and campsite were extremely clean. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. They seem to always be out checking everything, which we appreciated. Our site, #22, was well shaded and less than a 5min walk from the bathhouse. Bathrooms and showers were very clean with plenty of hot water. The whole area was nice and quiet. We were only a short (~10min) walk from the Potomac River. Walking out in it was a welcome respite from the heat. Theres a nearby country store that you pass on the way in that has camping provisions and WiFi. We would definitely camp here again.

Cleanest bathrooms in the last couple of years of camping in forest service campgrounds. The sites were super clean and the camp host was nice and helpful.

Everything was absolutely fantastic, the camp hosts were wonderful and helped with all of our needs, until 4:45 AM when the garbage truck came to empty the dumpsters. Its was so loud in our rooftop tent that it hurt our ears and it was there for a good 5 minutes. Our dog was terrified and so were we at first, its not a pleasant way to wake up. I would think scheduling the truck for hours when the campers are awake would be a better option. There should be a warning on trash pick up day. Again it was wonderful accept the dumpster truck. The campers hosts went out of their way to help out. Its not their fault, but the campers in the sights close to the dumpsters should be warned. I have PTSD and loud noises like that are very triggering. I came to camp in the quiet of nature, definitely wasnt expecting a 4:45 AM ear drum bursting garbage truck for a wake up call.

So.. it was crazy HOT when we went! But its a really nice campground. It would be super nice though if there was access to power.. at least near the bathhouse..

The campground was very nice with well spaced camp sites, terrific tree canopies, attention to quiet hours and clean restroom/shower facilities. This is also a favorite campground of ours for the easy access to the river for a refreshing and peaceful 45 minute float around the campground. Wildlife sightseeing was also really fun with a variety of large and small deer, bald eagles and waterfowl seen on our last trip.

It was very good experience. We have gone there for years and meet new campers and rejoined old camping friends. Lot of campers know me as the person who plays the song'' COUNTRY ROAD'' at the end of the day. This year the showers walls were WHITE and the floors were very clean. The camp ground hoists Rick & Tomico worked very hard to keep everything clean. Even if there was rain and mud. They kept after them. The hoists Rick& Tomico were very pleasant and helpful to make our stay even better. The fishing was kinda up and down because of rain, The river was well stocked with large trout. I caught a few nice ones. The view of the mountains from the camp grounds is ''Great''. The camp ground is full of animals deer, rabbits, squirrels and lots of different birds. Its worth the trip that's why we keep going back. See you there!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
