Very good place. Site B25 was awesome, we got it at last moment luckily. It had large area compared to others and was secluded enough. Nature centre etc was closed due to shut down. Day 1 we did noth fork trail till chimney top, bear preserve rock (very bad road here but worth visit) and blackwater fall. Drive in valleys was mesmerizing. We spent enough time at camp. Next morning it was raining, We skipped spruce know and went for nearby seneca mountain hiking which was doable in rain. Overall, we had great time. There is store nearby with 5 min drive which has everything.

Great campsite! main bathrooms and showers were great - we stayed in campsite 70 in far back corner of the walk in tent sites and it was great! No view of the rocks from the tent but huge open space around to see them

Beautiful location! It definitely was crowded on the weekend, but everyone was quiet and respectful.

I stayed at site 54 and it was very nice. The parking area is close enough that it isnt a big deal to make multiple trips to set up camp. This site was also far enough way from the bathrooms that you couldnt smell them (definitely stay further away from the vault toilets). The campground was very nice and the hosts had firewood for sale, cheaper than the little camp stores in town. My group did the seneca rocks hiking trail and left straight from the campsite. It adds a little over a mile to the hike but it takes you through the little town and discovery center so its nice. You cant see the rocks from any tent walk in site directly, but there is a nice open meadow area in the middle that anyone can walk into for a spectacular view that is just a few feet away. This also means there isnt much tree coverage for the walk in sites, they are pretty open. However, we did check out the drive in tent sites and those are much more private, but with no view of the rocks. All in all, it was a nice campground that was well maintained (cut grass, clean tent pads, nice fire rings/tables), and it was the perfect distance to some of seneca rocks fun activities (we also drove to Seneca Caverns). We will be staying again!

Camping area nicely kept up

The site was very nice especially as tent campers. Our only complaint was in previous years, camp personnel would come by each day to offer wood for sale and delivery. This year no one stopped by although we saw them go to different loops and sites, but not check specifically at each loop area. We had to go pick up wood from the supply ourselves, which we didnt know we could until we asked one of the other campers. We have camped at Seneca Shadows several times over the years and always had good customer service. This year we were disappointed in the lack of service.

This is a nicely laid out campground, with lots of sun, shade, space, and great views of Seneca Rocks. You can walk to the very small town of Seneca Rocks and the visitor center. The drive in sites have picnic tables and pads for tents. All of the drive in sites have bathrooms close by. Even the walk in sites are pretty nicely spaced. The bathrooms and showers are not pristine or anywhere close to new. But generally, they're ok / not too bad. I have seen better. But I have also seen much worse.

Bathrooms really need some maintenance. Very little parking near the walk in sites. Sites themselves are nice enough.
@HuiminC1EDB81C · Camped on Aug 1, 2025 at Campsite #53
Walk-in sites were spaced quite closely together. Bathroom was clean but when the wind blew in a certain direction we could smell the bathroom, even though we had taken pains to pick a site as far away from the toilet as possible. Otherwise, a good campsite.

Very quiet and peaceful site, just a few sites away from a decently clean bathroom that includes flush toilets and one shower. Site was nice and shaded so wasnt too hot, despite a heat wave and high humidity.

Five night stay (Sun-Fri) in the height of summer vacation season and the campground was at less than 50% capacity. (Oddis this because people dont know about forest service camping areas or because there arent many amenities for kids on site?) Dry camped in our RV in loop B, site 24 which is at the end of this loop. Site was clean and level. Good privacy between sites. While you cant see it, you can hear the traffic traveling at 55 mph on US Route 33. It is still a rural area so its not like a stream of constant trucks traveling by, but you can hear it nonetheless. Other reviews have mentioned bathrooms in A and B being out of serviceall womens facilities in A & B were functioning while we were there. Didnt use shower as we have our own (no fee). We were able to get water in the loop with electric, you will need more than 25 of hose. Trash dumpster in each loop (no recycling, maybe thats not a thing in WVa). Decent camp wood available for $8 bundle from hostdont buy in village, quality terrible and high price. Sign at dump station indicates all campers have to pay but an amount isnt listed and you have to find camp manager. Come onI dont mind having to pay a small fee but really, its not hard to post the amount on the sign. Dont make people guess!. We didnt see the manager so ended up leaving $10 in the cash box (already a $10 in there so we figured that was the cost). While our site was clean, there were a lot of black flies around. It was a constant battle to keep them out of our RV. Not many mosquitoes. Bears and raccoons must not be a problem because none of the dumpsters were secured. final note. Complete lack of cell service in the entire area/region, not just the campground.

Great place, well maintained, only concern is the showers are very limited. Especially for group sites there is only one shower and people have to wait for longer time. Apart from this the place is awesome, the site manager staff is great and supportive.

We really love Seneca Shadows! However, since there were no more electric sites available, we booked a non-electric site for our small camper. We did not see any restrictions for a generator on the camp rules or the Mon Forest web sites. In fact we found that as long as it was not during quiet hours, we could use a generator. On our second day, the campground manager came by to tell us we couldn't use a generator in the campground. When we asked about the rules not saying anything, he told us it was on the internet. But we couldn't find anything. Anyway, we had to leave a day early since our battery could not be charged. We had a solar panel, but it was raining and we were in the shade. It would be nice if this contradiction could be corrected both in the rules and on the internet reservations.

Our group campsite was clean and accessible to a fairly well maintained latrine with running water, shower head, and sink. Tent pads, fire pit, and picnic tables provided. The grounds were mowed and dumpsters regularly emptied. The site is right next to Seneca Rocks and about 15 minutes away from Seneca Caverns and NRocks outdoor outfitters. Lots of hiking trails within a short drive away. Good experience.

Great campground, beautiful scenery, lots of activities such as hiking, fishing, photography, rock climbing and sightseeing.
@TateHD4C31040F · Camped on Jun 22, 2025 at Campsite #13
In general, the campsite is good. The campsites are separate enough to have some privacy and they have enough shade to help cool the sites. The fire pit is good, alongside the tables and such that come with the site.There were a few issues with the campsite. Mainly, the bathrooms are very rough. Toilets and showers were always gross. They definitely need an upgrade. Probably will come back

Campsite was great but restrooms were not as clean as they should be. Dead bugs and a dead worm were there the whole 5 nights we were there

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
