The 2024 season camp hosts at Seneca Shadows were incredible people. Bathrooms (including vaults) were clean. Site 38 is very spacious and private. 5/5, already booked for 2025.

Beautiful location but largest loop wouldnt fit us. Website is incorrect. Over hanging trees did some RV damage and the electricity surged off every 15 minutes. Zero cell reception to call for help or use GPS. Finally got a hold of camp host, was told her husband would come look at power box. After 2 days still didnt come by. Finally left with 4 days to go on our paid for spot. Camp site beside me had 1 rent site. They put up 5 tents and 4 cars in the space, 7 adults,, 3 large dogs. Which meant they were fudging into our site as well, with additional hammocks tied to trees and one of their tents, (one one tent was set in the actual tent spot. Camp host left a note, but nothing changed, nothing enforced. This area is good for 30 ft max trailers and tents, motorhome will have difficulty since spaces that are large are a loop, and we dont bend. Clean but no rules enforced. Zero cel service/ iffy power grid.

Seneca Shadows Campground is a very nice place for camping. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, the camp sites are quite and peaceful. The only thing that we did not like is the toilet facilities, there was one flush toilet near our camp site (site#38) that wasn't functional, thus we had to use the other bathrooms at a few mins walk; even those bathrooms were dirty and had only one flush toilet and a shower. I think the Campground staff could do better maintenance of bathroom facilities. Nonetheless, we had to leave a day earlier as a snake made it to our camp site; initially we spotted the snake crawling in the woods behind the camps but later in the evening while we were sitting we saw this snake claimed up on a tree inside the camp site on which we had our hammocks tied to, the sanke was hanging right over the head of one of the ladies laying in the hammock. This scared us, though the camp manager arrived at the site when we called her for help but our ladies were so frightened by the incident that we couldn't stay at the camp site any further.

Lovely well maintained campground.
Courteous manager and host (Tammy).
Tented in the Meadow with fantastic view of the Rocks, bunnies and fire flys.
General store within a short walk.
Very good trail 1.3 miles up to the top of Rock. Black River Falls nearby.

The bathhouse was dirty and had no hot water. The outhouses were closed due to being dirty. Normally the managers would come by and check on everything but only seen them once spraying what looked like lysol in the outhouse. The management changed their locand we found it difficult to turn our camper around at that location. It was very poor management. We visit the campsite every year with numerous family members and this trip was awful.

The campground is in a great location. The bathrooms, showers and water facilities are decrepit and nearly worthless. Of four bathhouses, only one had hot water. That was the bathhouse by the camp hosts and NO other campsites were located near it. This makes it very hard to recommend this campground.

It was a very comfortable campground. There is only one pull-through spot however, so you must reserve well in advance if you want that. Additionally, none of the sites have water, so that is a huge drag. To round out the RV experience, they charge a fee to use the dump station after not making your RV experience easy.

Seneca Shadows is one of my all time favorite campgrounds. The park was well maintained, in a very scenic location, and quiet. The campground host was also very friendly and helpful. Its the perfect place to get away from it all and experience the best West Virginia has to offer. My only complaint is use of the RV dump station is not included with your stay and must be paid for separately.

The Shadows is a beautiful campground on the hill with views of Seneca Rocks. The Seneca Rocks Discovery Center is an interesting place to visit just down the road. They had craft demonstrations and music on the weekend we visited. It is an excellent place to get away from the city. The campground was clean and well maintained. There is a short walking trail in the park too.
