Our group of six split up between river loop sites 1 and 4. We had a great time. The black walnuts were falling at site 1 during our 4 day stay (10/2 - 10/5). Facilities were clean. Will stay again!

Great experience; would absolutely go back. Four of five stars because designated tent pad and portions of the rest of the site (Site 4) were gravel over poured concrete and therefore impossible to properly stake a tent. In general, sites were spacious and well separated from neighbors. I would probably avoid sites 9 & 10, as they back on to the restrooms and have all-night light shining in.

Camp hosts are welcoming and friendly. Facilities are well maintained and bathrooms are clean and smelling fresh! Always a plus... quiet hours are also strictly enforced.

Kids love tubing the river, campsites are nice, campground facilities are good, management friendly and helpful, beautiful and fairly uncrowded hikes nearby.

Beautiful setting along the river with the mountains as a backdrop. The bathrooms were clean and the camp hosts very friendly and attentive. There were really only two major drawbacks if you were looking for good hiking. First, the premier hikes at Dolly Sods and Seneca Rocks were about an hour away. Secondly, you really have to know the mountain passes to get there in that time frame. It would be helpful to arm the camp host with additional hiking information and simple road directions on how to get to these locations, especially since there is very limited internet access.
