This campsite is the most lovely spot we ever stay. So, easy to set up and enjoy the river, birds and hikes with family and friends!

Big Bend campground was absolutely perfect! I definitely recommend getting a site near the river- where a short path leads you right to it. Bring tubes- it is SO beautiful to float and the mini rapids were very fun. There was a store about four miles away with just about anything you could need for camping which was super convenient. The camp managers were welcoming and helpful. Seneca was about a 50 minute drive away which was perfect. We will definitely be back!

We love Big Bend Campground. It's a quiet campground with clean facilities and no cell service (which for us, is amazing). The camp hosts are super friendly and available for questions as needed. We tent camp, and feel there is enough space between campsites that you don't hear everything going on around you. The lower river side campsites are lovely, but we've stayed in the upper campsites and enjoyed our time there as well. Bring a tube for tubing around the bend. Plenty of fish to be pursued as well.

I recently got back from my 6th camping trip to Big Bend (WV). Needless to say, I love the place!! It is peaceful, clean, private wooded campsites, and the camp manager, Glen, is helpful and nice without being the least bit intrusive. Don’t go here! I want it all to myself!

There needs to be some control over people loudly partying and dogs relentlessly barking. Waking to dogs barking is a bad way to start the day, then throughout day...barking, sitting around the campfire before bed...more barking mixed with three car loads of jackasses loudly talking over each other. Other than that, it would have been a nice experience.

I've come to Big Bend 8 of the past 9 years in a large group of men with their sons. This was the 1st time we've had an issue with other campers. They took items from anorher campsite and became confrontational when caught. There was likely alcohol involved. The camp host handled the situation well and informed us that he's had issues with that group in previous years. We were glad to be leaving the following day to avoid additional problems.

A beautiful, clean campground right on the South Potomac. A great migratory environment for warblers, abundant wildlife. Great venue to just relax & enjoy the outdoors.

We had an absolutely wonderful camping experience at Big Bend. The campsites are shaded and lovely. The campground host was marvelously helpful. Bathrooms and shower facilities (!) were clean. And the tubing was terrific. I would suggest watching the water levels. We were at about 1.85-1.95, and that is about as low as you can go without picking up your tube and walking at least a few sections. For those new to tubing at BB, as we were, tube from wherever you enter down to the visitors parking area that you passed when you entered the campground and look for the trail sign right at the campground entrance. Head up the trail and over--a few switchbacks up and a few down, maybe 15 minutes--then enter the river when you reach it. Trip from there back to the parking lot is 1:15 to 1:30 this time of year. Do bring enough food--and block ice if you can find it, for the trip out to the closest store is a long one. And, while they have ice, not much beyond that. Park is super dog friendly. So if your dog loves the water, is gentle and loves kids--as ours does--this is dog heaven, too.

Really nice and quiet campground. If you've never been here, the road in is pretty twisty so if you're planning to arrive after dark, I know you're probably tired of driving but slow down. The river is beautiful and we spent some time just meandering along it. Nearby towns have all the amenities needed.
