Great location to west entrance of Yellowstone. Also, right on Hebgen Lake. The campground was small with large, spread-out sites, but limited privacy due to lack of ground cover vegetation. Overall, a great choice if you are visiting Yellowstone.

I loved this site. Easy to get into and spread out. The kids ha as a blast playing.

The campground was organized and quiet with literally the cleanest hole in the ground bathrooms weve ever experienced. It was our second time staying here and we will probably return again. Its far enough away from town to escape the hustle, but close enough for a quick, convenient drive in. Just a heads up though, we stayed in mid July and the mosquitos were rampant, prepare accordingly.

Excellent campsite, walking distance to lake front, fairly clean bathrooms, 15ish minutes from West Yellowstone. Campsites were spacious and not to close to each other. Very washboard road in but other than that a great place, would definitely go back.

Perfect place to camp

The road to the campsite was very bumpy and had lots of washboards. The camp site had lots of stumps that needed to be removed. Stumps were in the way for parking the trailer, vehicle and walking around.

Loop D site was very nice, quiet and a lot of room between the other sites. Good fairly flat place for a tent.

Campground is very nice and Hebgen Lake is beautiful. Sadly, without water or sewer at site and no shower house or dump station available could be problematic for extended stays. Fortunately there is a nearby (about 10 miles) campground that provides dump services for a small fee. Road into campground is terrible! 2 miles of washboard nearly broke our camper. No advisory about the road is provided. Camp hosts were very attentive during our stay. A few improvements could make it 5 star.

Loved the host and her son! Loved the sites. Easy walk to the beach. Level areas. Nice fire pits. Bathrooms are clean and kept up. Will be back!

The access road was quite washboard and there was a large puddle at the head end of our campsite but everything else was just fine.

We always have a nice experience at rainbow point, this time was no different. The lake is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful. We love it.

Rainbow Point has always been one of my favorite campgrounds in SW Montana. The access to the lake is great, vault toilets are always clean, the campground is always clean. Access to clean water is always nice. I just absolutely love coming here!

Great quiet place to stay. Still close to town but without the noise and crowds.

Wow! We were a little concerned after reading some of the reviews, but I can assure you that the campsites at this campground are awesome!Having just come from several other commercial campgrounds where we were on postage stamp size sites, it was wonderful to have a site that was easily 20 times the size of any other that we had recently stayed at. Further, the treed area offered an additional level of privacy, protection from the wind, and even the slightest bit of rain to our site.Each site comes equipped with a large picnic table, bear cabinet, and an extra large fire ring which was great for cooking and campfires. We came fully armed, based on previous reviews, for mosquitoes, and I can easily state that they were no problem, but it was June. Bring spray!Clearly, this location does not offer showers, however, running water is available for campfires, etc. since we were in a pop-up, we easily found an RV park in West Yellowstone that offered showers Which we took advantage of on our way back from the park each day. There are four rings of sites and each ring has two bathrooms. The bathrooms are pit bathrooms. We couldnt help commenting on how clean they were and how nice they smelled! A far cry from the scout bathrooms we used as kids - LOL. The camp host is available that will provide information and sell firewood. Despite the photos, the campsites are not directly on the lake. You can, however, walk to the lake easily from the campsite and many people brought boats to launch for fishing purposes.Now, the only downside to this in addition to the lack of showers, which is manageable, is the road. This campsite is approximately 7 miles off the main road. The first 5 miles are paved and its a little rough. The last 2 miles are unpaved graded/gravel roads and you will need to take your time with equipment and cars getting in and out. For the quiet, we were able to overlook this, but I sure hope they pave it sometime in the future!

We liked the area. Nice lake. Enjoy ourselves, close enough to visit Yellowstone Park. Main reason for our stay.

Everything was as expected and good. Except the last 2 miles road was horrible. Small potholes and then by attempting to grade gravel road, they created a washboard to shake along.

Appreciated having trash receptacles; Toilets were clean; Relative privacy for being a big busy campground; and access to West Yellowstone for participation in the VR Yellowstone half marathon.

Beautiful area, great campground. Super close and easy to get to the lake. We were able to observe a big herd of Buffalo, with lots of babies in the herd! Be sure you understand that there are no showers and bathrooms are rustic. However, we highly recommend visiting!!

The weather was perfect. The fishing wasn't but that's not the campgrounds fault. I suggest they contact the fisheries for restocking. The bathrooms were good but could have been serviced more often.

This spot was the highlight of our two week camping/road trip! I've read reviews from a few years ago about mosquitos, but we had none! Not buggy at all, very nice for being on a lake. Every year is different, but I do think early June was a good call for time of year to go to avoid this. Also read people freaked out about the 2 mile dirt road, but if you want to be in the woods and not a parking lot rv park, then you usually have one of these and this one was not worse than any we've been on. Go slow, and slower when you see a washboard spot, it's short and we had no issues pulling our 25 foot camper. We were in spot C27 and it could not have been more perfect. Tucked into the pines, just 100 yards to the short path to a beautiful beach spot on the lake. We had electric hook up so could safely leave dogs with air conditioning for a quick drive into the quaint town of West Yellowstone, (loops B and C have electric, A and D are boon dock sites). It's a campground so you can see your neighbors, but nice big sites so you are not on top of each other at all! The vault toilets are the cleanest and non-smelly I have ever encountered. The hosts are wonderful, firewood and good stories are available. Take your fishing poles and your water toys, we paddle boarded for hours! We will return to this place to be sure. Oh, did I mention that it's just 15 min to the West entrance to Yellowstone? :)

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
