Lonesomehurst Campground is located in the Hebgen Lake Ranger District, Custer Gallatin National Forest (1 hr 56 min south of Bozeman, MT) with an elevation of 6,548 feet. There are a total of 26 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the end of September. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 23 and 99 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 5 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $32.00. Some amenities include boat ramp, swimming. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

The camp was off a dirt road. Also the lake water was very low. This is a very remote site.. take proper precautions to protect your self. No showers was a big negative issue for dry campers. Check the weather prior to your trip it can get very cold at night. For the price and closeness to Yellowstone National Park about 20 min from the west entrance is/was super convenient. Over all it was a good experience.

This is a very nice, well maintained campground. The lake was quite low for our trip but still nice to camp lakeside. Not being a fan of generators there were some being used but stopped before the cut-off time. Some were quite loud and annoying. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we'll be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Lonesomehurst Campground. Our first few nights were in Site 17 which was lakeside. It was great! We later moved to a site across the road. It had electricity which was helpful as my husband uses a cpap. The camp hosts, Ruby and Jack, kept the outhouses clean. They moderated the campground with frequent drives through. We intend to visit again next year. Only complaint is the condition of the road to the campground. It is poorly maintained with rain ruts, washboard and a dangerous 12 inch drop from the blacktop to the gravel surface.

Sites are well spaced with lots of trees for privacyeasy back-in site. I did not use any of the facilities. A bit bumpy coming in on the dirt road, but not bad. Good location for visiting Yellowstone.

site #26 is on a double space. Plenty of room for our 23 ft. camper and our truck. The only negative about this campground is the access road is horrible! The locals must find it very frustrating to travel on this road. Denny Creek Road needs to be resurfaced so boaters, campers, and other visitors to Lonesomehurst can enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Great place to stay. Close to West Yellowstone and the park. Very friendly atmosphere. The camp hosts Ruby and Jack were very knowledgeable and helpful. I plan on going back again next year.

Beautiful, quiet park with excellent hosts. Spent a couple of days paddle boarding around the lake, enjoying the birds and stunning views. We wont hesitate to stay here again.

Good clean campground on the lake close to West Yellowstone for supplies and eateries. My second time here and again, no problems whatsoever. Site 7 was right on the water with plenty of space and level. Not alot of shade but I wasn't there during peak sun hours. I preferred the open sky for night viewing of the stars. Vault toilets were fairly clean and stocked. Bear boxes provided.

Liked the location not far from Yellowstone. Pit toilets were mostly clean but a little stinky. Nice view of the lake from our site. Site was mostly level but difficult to back into because of the rocks and wood posts used to separate the camp sites. The water filling station is not in a good place because you have to block traffic while you fill your tank. Water was cold for swimming and had lots of algae. The last 1/4 mile of the road in and out of the campground was dirt and pretty bumpy. It badly needs to be grated smooth.

It was a cute campsite. The sites were very clean as were the washrooms. The only thing I didn't like was that one night there was a noise disturbance until 1:30am and when I asked the Host to go talk to them I was told to do it myself. I had my daughter with me so we decided listening to the noise was better us walking up to a random trailer in the middle of the night. But this is the only campsite I have ever been told that. Other then one sleepless night it was good.

We love it there and go there annually. Love this part of the lake that does not get the algae bloom like the other parts. Camp host kept the bathrooms very clean and stocked.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and peaceful (despite being fully booked). Most sites have great shade and tree coverage. All sites are an easy walk to the lake. Any questions we had were answered by the friendly camp hosts!The only minor downsides: the last little stretch of road is pretty rough coming, but its fine if you take it slow. To purchase firewood within the campground is very expensive, I would suggest buying in town before coming out if you can.

Lonesomehurst Campground is a quiet little campground with access to Hebgen Lake. Great lake for kayaking, fishing or other water activities. The campground had potable water, extremely clean bathrooms and the hosts were very helpful.

Campground is very clean and access is decent. Trees need to be trimmed for taller campers. The commercial drop and go camper companies are taking up spaces and sharing electric with non electric sites. Kinda disappointed they are allowing that. They are dragging electrical cords across the road to power other campers.

Nice campsites. Enough shade to keep it comfortable but still room to move. Privies were well maintained. Great boat launch facilities. Great boat cleaning station. Nice beach for playing.

There is one water point to fill up your freshwater tank and it is inconvenient and blocks the one-way traffic.
