Great shaded area. Lots of room. Decent space from other campsites

Beautiful, clean campground with clean pit toilets. Within walking distance to hiking trails and Sipapu ski area nearby with cafe/food truck and store with cell service. The campground hosts are very nice and friendly and you can buy your firewood from them. The stars and night skies are beautiful. One of my favorite places to camp.

Excellent campground, the roads are a little tight, but do-able with out 25 foot trailer. The pit toilets were immaculate and well stocked, hosts Kaye & Walter were awesome, they checked in with us when we arrived and stopped by daily while making their rounds. There's a nice 8-ish mile hiking trail loop that starts and ends in the campground.

Camped her many times. I like the current hosts. Super green due to all the rains. Nice to have water back on in the campground.Great being close to Sipapu. Hummingbirds galore. Busy Friday and Saturday but quiet the rest of the time. Love the creek and river. Great place to have a fire in the pit...gets cool at night...50's in August so it is welcome relief from the inferno elsewhere.Great pines and incredible aspens. Lots of new growth which is welcome from the other years when new growth was scarce.Nice having internet at Sipapu nearby though I kept online time to a minimum. Had a lot of meals in camp but really enjoyed a hot brat and beer at Sipapu. Wow is their fudge good made by a local..and I usually avoid fudge. Good trout stream nearby. Cute chipmunks and squirrels who are bold. Good place for dogs but they must be leashed. We use a tent and cots. Great having breakfast oatmeal and coffee as you wake up to cool weather. Not so sure I would like the campground if it was raining but then again, we use a tent. Lots of good hike trails nearby....easy or super hard so something for everyonel Kids will like. Couple of Steller Jays roam around...noisy...great looking bird. Such a great campground.

It is a beautiful campground. Very quiet and clean. The host was pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend this place. It rained a lot while we were there so we did not get a chance to sit out very much. We will be back.

I love this location. It is a great campground. The host were very, very professional, helpful and friendly. The host kept the campground very well cleaned and maintained. I believe they are the very best campground host Ive ever experienced, thank you very much for a wonderful stay on my vacation.

We stayed at site 19, which is right next to the stream. The campground is absolutely beautiful. During monsoon season it rains nearly everyday, so bring lots of tarps. The rain also brings bugs, so bring bug spray as well. The stream next to the campground meets up with the river - thats just a 3-5 minute walk and its worth checking out. Theres also a large meadow and trail inside the campground. The camp hosts were friendly, but the vault toilet was out of toilet paper most of our stay. Sipapu ski resort is a 5 minute drive from the campground and theyve got ice, beer, food and a food truck. You cant beat the scenery or remoteness of this campground; highly recommend!

So beautiful. We camped in spot #18 & #19 which easily connected together and they were so spacious and open, also had little trails down to the creek. Camp site was quite and camp hosts were friendly.

Clean, comfortable campground.

The campground was very clean and restrooms were well cleaned and stocked. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.Roads need some improvement/repaved. Some sites the tables are falling apart and need replacement. Sites on the inside loop, odd numbers, in loop B are very close together. The hike up to Indian Lake was beautiful. Although, Indian Lake is really a wet land rather than a lake. Still, beautiful wild flowers, birds and mountain views. Would definitely return to this campground.

Beautiful, quiet and prestine we showed up a week before Fourth of July and absolutely loved it

Love this site! We have been coming for years to Site 18. They did removed a few trees from the tent pad area so that is more in full sun during the day. The picnic table area still gets shade midday. Camp Hosts were very nice and kept the facilities very clean.
@JohnA1386005 · Camped on Jun 23, 2025 at Campsite #20
The overall condition of the campground is lousy. The "paved road" is very old. The picnic tables are rotting in place not having been painted in years. Charcoal from pervious fires was dumped in the bushes near the campsite. The bathrooms were old, but clean.

Site was great but unfortunately the water pump near our site was not working.

A nice escape in the green hills of Mew Mexico.

We booked our campsite the week before arrival so there were only 2 sites available. I looked at aerial photos and thought this site might have good birding possibilities. The host couple helped sign us in. They were very friendly (from Texas) and we talked about the process you go through to get a host assignment. There were no suitable tent areas and we pitched our 3-person tent on the asphalt behind the car. It worked great, no worries! Many campgrounds squeeze as many campers in as possible, but at Agua Piedra the sites are spread out, much to our liking. I always try to get a site on the outside of a loop thinking the birding is better.

The campground is well maintained and staffed. Beautiful trails all throughout the Carson Forest. One of my favorite stops for summer camping. Thank You National Forest Workers!

Pleasant campground in a beautiful setting. We stayed mid-week and found the campground not so busy.
@RussellS811673 · Camped on Jun 3, 2025 at Campsite #28
The campground was great and the hosts were excellent. The toilet near our site (28) was clean and well maintained. The only problem was the water was not available because testing had not been completed. One of the main factors in choosing this campground was availability of water. Since we were staying 4 nights we had to bring in water from Taos.

This is a beautiful, well kept campground. The camp hosts are terrific. One star off because it really needs a loop that is generator free. Each morning promptly at 8 AM the camper directly across from us fired up and then every afternoon a camper to the right of us fired up. This meant for both breakfast and dinner we "enjoyed" the roar of generators for hours. Of note, we were in the upper campground. Surprising that a 40 foot RV could get in there. The larger sites are in the lower loop. Those are also much more level so I couldn't figure out why the upper loop was chosen. This was in early Sept and there were a total of 4 campers in the entire campground.

It's a good spot if you have a Rv as for a tent it's in the middle of everything. Site 37 is particularly right next to it, so so close. Overall an ok spot.
@KristinL21FBCB · Camped on Aug 30, 2024 at Campsite #34
Excellent site if you're tent camping it has steps that lead down to the table, camp pad, and fire pit. The fire pit sits very close to the stairs so beware that this could be an issue with small children. This area had a nice wide parking spot, and easy for two vehicles to fit. The site can easily be secluded since you step down into it and your parked car can block you from the passer by people walking around the campground. You can see into site 35 easily so that site will feel close if it's reserved and there is a small path that links them, but overall a great site.
@KristinL21FBCB · Camped on Aug 30, 2024 at Campsite #33
It has a good size parking spot for an RV as for tent it's not bad. It's close to the restrooms and the sites sharing the middle such as 36, 37 and 38 kind of close. It has a nice size tent pad area but overall an ok site.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
