We used group campsite No. 2. There was room for our RV, but the rest of the group needed to use tents. That worked for us this time, but more than one RV, or one long RV, would not work. That said, we had a fine time and enjoyed the ground squirrel family that uses the firepit ring for a jungle gym.

Beautiful small campground in a lovely valley enclosed by high mountains with a running stream, fishing, hiking, etc. Remote, quiet, relatively primitive.

Beautiful camping area. The camp host has the facilities clean and was helpful with questions. The campground provides access to some of the most beautiful trails in all of NM. As I resident of NM I hope it remains accessible public lands.

Great little Campground all the banks of the Rito Santa Barbara. Fishing, hiking, and just relaxing make this a great getaway.Cant say enough about how clean the Campground was, especially the restrooms. The Camphost was friendly, professional and has done a great job here.

The campground & campsite were clean and in excellent condition. The bathrooms were very clean and stocked with TP. Kudos to the campground host. I didn't give 5 stars because there were entire classes from several schools (United World College and Santa Fe Preparatory) camped there. Probably 50-60? kids. There were tents full of school-age teens everywhere. The USFS has a published limit on how many people can occupy a campsite, but that rule doesn't seem to be enforced here. I was very disappointed that this many people could just swarm in and occupy half of the campsites. One of the (few) adults supervising the teens told us (proudly) that this same scene was being repeated by other schools at other USFS campgrounds across northern New Mexico. So. You may want to reconsider scheduling a visit during the third week of August.

A very nice campground. Access to some gorgeous hikes. The Western fork trail is absolutely stunning. Cattle are grazed in the National Forest, so be aware that you will see them on the trail. Despite moving off the trail to skirt a group of cows, we and our dogs were pursued by two vocally angry bulls, which was nerve-wracking.The campground was nicely laid out, and there were sites available in mid-August.

While Santa Barbara Canyon is still gorgeous, cows are allowed to graze the and have destroyed some if the vegetationAlso, RVs get away with running their generators after 10 pm

It was a bit early in the season to go (May) and they were still preparing the campground with some heavy machinery. This did not lend to the experience I sought. Otherwise, an excellent campground.

Too bad this campground isn't open a little later in the year, like through October would be nice especially because the aspens will be beautiful and walking up the east/middle fork trail would be absolutely stunning. Really nice camp sites, at least for me in my van. Many of the sites do not have great tent sites. The camping sites appeared to be pretty darn clean and the toilet was fine. I would definitely go hike on the middle fork trail later in the year. Campground host was super nice.

We reserved site 14 which is really close to the river, so it was nice to hear the water sitting outside our camper. We had my 10 foot camper which easily backed into the space. Sites are mostly FF at this time but 14 was a reserved spot and highly recommend. Campground is small and we were next to what appears to be the largest with concrete slab for a large RV which was present. Fortunately, they refrained from running their generator at night. We did not see the campsite manager until the next day, so we were able to consider other sites that were open, but stayed with this one. Toilets clean. A few sites would have had some other campers looking down over us. We were quite happy with 14. Good walking trails both on the upper and also lower along river.

We enjoy camping here usually. This time our neighbor ran their generator all night every night. There was a camp host this time we stayed so reported to the camp host, however the generator was still operated at night, all night. We came back from a hike and found people and their off leash dogs in our camp, they were walking up by our RV, literally on the camping rug, drinking coffee or what have you. They walked off when we walked up. Witnessed a family filling their water bottles at the campground spigot despite the sign on the spigot that states not for drinking, not for washing dishes, etc. Be sure to bring water.

Good campground to head into the Pecos Wilderness. Good tree cover and friendly camp hosts. There were a few generators running but they stopped early and the Santa Barbara running along the campground help drown out the drone of the generators. Generators are why I rarely stay in campgrounds anymore, but folks were respectful here.

I love Santa Barbara CG and have been there many times over the years. My family and I were shocked and distressed because there were no warning signs that the 1 available drinking water hydrant in the campgrounds had not received testing results and shouldn't be used for drinking. We are hoping that non of us get sick because we filled up a gallon jug and drank most of it. When I went to refill the jug the next morning the camp host informed me that we should not drink the water. Please rectify this situation immediately. Why was the water not tested before the summer season?

We stayed in site 13 and the description states it will accommodate 40ft, it WILL NOT. We are luck we had a 19 ft bumper pull and a jeep, it fit perfect. The camp host was very helpful and friendly. The campground and vaulted toilets were clean. The water is NOT working so make sure you have plenty of water. (June 2023)

We stayed in site 12 with 30 foot 5th wheel and it was perfect. The camp host was very helpful and friendly. The campground and vaulted toilets were clean. The water is NOT working so make sure you have plenty of water. (June 2023) They did have wood for sale.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
