Website was a little confusing first time paying for camp spot . I thought I was paying for 2 nites when I found a site we liked but it was for 2 days and 1 night . Almost had to leave on 2nd nite because of my mistake . But thankfully was able to pay for the night with only . United to spare . After 10 you cannot book a spot for the night

The sites are great size! I'd love to have some if ANY flat land to put a tent but you're camping so it is what it is. Fire pits are GREAT tables are large i Love the pole in each site to hang a lantern. The bathrooms are nice (when they work) one of them was basically inoperable the whole time as the toilets were constantly flooded and then the shower also flooded. So clearly drains needed to be de clogged more often etc. but the other bathrooms were clean and great! I didnt see the camp host then entire time until about an hour before we left. be prepared for people to be LOUD until 2 am at least! Will be back but could use a little work.

This is a great spot to camp- but if you want to be by the water, you need to book 4-6 months in advance even when going during the week. There are flushing toilets and showers- but not a lot. If youre a weekend camper- you will want to bring your own toilet/shower (we do even during the week). The weather can be oppressively hot in August (Ive gone May-July usually, think Ill avoid August next year because the only relief is being in the lake- on the campsite its just too hot, particularly for dogs who arent good at staying still and staying in the shade.) The one complaint I have is consistent year after 5 trips here- maintenance is rare, if it happens at all. A few years ago diarrhea on the bathroom wall all week (prompted me to buy my camp toilet) usually there is some mess from previous campers- this year trash on beach and site- and enough pancakes, eggs, and sausages to feed ten people dumped at the base of our picnic table. So be prepared to clean, and please leave it cleaner than you found it! Respect nature! There are trash bins!! Oh also- there was no ranger or anyone to check us in on Sunday, and the grounds are quite a maze to navigate to your site. Be sure to take a photo of the map posted as you drive in! Even that is a little confusing!

The only complaint is the tweekers in the area sneaking in at night going through the garbage cans. Makes for being uncomfortable of safety. I know the host is keeping an eye out and working real hard to keep them out. The host Cindy was great.

Wasnt very impressed with this campground. Loud people with loud music, unleashed dogs (one that even charged me), tiny leeches in the reservoir that attached to me and my infant. We felt baked in the afternoons and couldnt escape the heat with the unpleasant water. I dont believe swimming is encouraged here(?) but there were plenty of people swimming. We were excited to leave this spot for sure. Just didnt suit our idea of an ideal campground in many ways.

Overall good sight. Needs little cleaning and sometimes neighbors could be noisy

Very shady spot and park ranger very friendly at check in.

Site 50 was great because it offered extra space. We had originally booked site 101 and immediately wanted to move. Site 101 offered no space to even set up tents, especially if site 102 is booked (which it was when I arrived). Thankfully, we were able to switch to site 50 and were much happier. Bathrooms are pretty basic and pretty much what you would expect for a campground. My only complaint was rowdiness from other campers well past quiet hours.

Dont come in summer, theres no shade. Also the ground isnt flat. Otherwise pretty nice location and lake view.

Family had a great camping trip. I couldn't fill all stars due to the bathroom conditions and levels of unsanitary it was left in for the weekend. We didn't see staff come to thoroughly clean it until Monday morning. Our final day. All other days in between the bathrooms were stocked with toilet paper once a day. With the crowds of campers, I would think for health and sanitary purposes the bathroom should be restocked more and cleaned daily. Other than that we had a great camping experience with the family and loved the fun on the water. Family is already talking and planning another trip. Think we might be bringing our own showers and portable toilets if needed for a much more sanitary experience.

We had a great family vacation. We have been camping at New Hogan now for about 40 years and we always have a good time.

We camp here every year, and we really love it. The campgrounds are clean, the bathrooms are clean-ish. The sites are good sized, and affordable. It is a family-like atmosphere.
@NessaF5AF57F06 · Camped on Jul 11, 2025 at Campsite #102
The campground itself is always great. Site 102 is pretty small but we were able to comfortably fit a 2 person tent. The site is pretty much as close to the water as you can get. 102 has a tree that is invested with ants right next to the table that you are unable to move so that is something to be aware of but it did not effect us. You get the perfect sun rise view from this site. My only complaint is that this campground requires dogs to be leashed however last year we had an a counter with an unleashed dog running up to our dog and the same thing happened this year as well except this time the dog ran right up to our tent and the owners did not care. Besides the unleashed dogs this is a great campground and 102 is a great site.

Seems like when the rangers leave for the night there is some sketchy people driving around and parked.We had a ski vest taken from our sight.Lesson learned not to leave a thing out

The lake is very enjoyable for boating. Sadly with budget cuts, there is limited staff at this campground. No person to man the gates, and no camp hosts. The dry grass is a worry for fires, in past years it was cut down. We enjoyed our time.

My campsite was a great location. Water just a walk away and bathroom right across. The womens bathroom need to install waste bins for female products as 2nd night there someone started throwing used products on the floor and that was nasty. Cleaners did come clean the restrooms in the morning so that was nice until whoever the person was used the restroom again.

I stayed 2 nights 3 days and has a blast ALONE!!! Just me few neighbors for a day the nature and my catfish I caught my last day around 730 am. Barely any shaded areas in this camp site but amazing views water was amazing to cool off. Every campsite has bbq ring not to sure about the bathroom because I have my own bathroom tent. Very convenient. Does get hot around 12-5pm FYI

Our campsite was #102, one of the picnic benches should be replaced, it's horrible and will cause harm.
@FrankS4577331 · Camped on Jun 27, 2025 at Campsite #71
The campsite itself we had would have perfect. Except that on both sides of us people at campsites had 40 to 50 people 10 or 15 cars 10 to 12 tents inside so were not designed for 2cars and six people. They played music. They registered on my decimal app on my phone and nearly 80 dB inside of our camper. They played music literally screamed and made noise until after 2:30 in the morning. Theres absolutely no staff of the campground to take control and tell them to be quiet. The bathrooms were filthy and way overcrowded because there was 10 times more people the campground that shouldve been allowed. Whoever runs this campground should be fired.

Campground is in a great location. 7 mins away is civilization if you forget something. The lake is right there and there are showers that are free. I would come back again!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
