Great location right on the water, compared to those around it this unfortunately has zero shade so bring a tarp or avoid when hot. Felt a little close to the site next to it but all in all a positive experience

Campground was nice. No complaints there. Our site in particular was a tad bit small. It was also not cleaned by the previous visitors. There was a trash bag with diapers in it and the firepit had plastic items thrown in it. If the previous visitor had cleaned the site, then our experience would have been much better.

Site #42 is sandwiched between dumpster and washroom. Not a great one view wise. Campground was well maintained. Park rangers were kind and friendly.

I loved Acorn Campground ! Me and my daughter had a great stay here , we felt safe and we loved the beauty of the lake and area. They need to come cut the grass, thats the only complaint I have lol . But I loved this place , we will come back again one day .

Stayed in site 106, first time at the campground. Our camper ('21 Cougar SABWE 24ft) has a single slide and we were very close to not being able to open it, due to the large boulders that lined the driver's side of the driveway. Thankfully, we had about 6-8 inches of clearance on either side of the slide so it worked, but there was essentially a single location in the driveway that made this possible. There is 8-10 inch tall concrete curbing lining the passengers side of the driveway (for reference the spot is a back-in, not pull through), so clearing the curb with the trailer steps was also very tight. Campground was very clean, visitors and park staff were friendly, and our stay was quiet and relaxing. Site 106 has a beautiful lake view and is about 50 yards from the water. Highly recommend, but maybe visit before to ensure that the site will accommodate your trailer. Fill your fresh tank before getting to the campground!

The campsites gave ample space and access to facilities. Spaces have a pole and hook, table and fire ring with a grate. Most spaces, however, were not well leveled. Our picnic table was so sloped that we could not set out fruit or water bottles without them rolling away or falling over. The restrooms and showers were good, though we had lights not working on the men and women's side while we stayed. The showers are oversized and better than most other campsites. A few water spouts are available throughout the site, but the water quality is markedly worse than most campgrounds. The lake is nice and the ground for the tents was nice to sleep on.

This was my second time camping here at acorn campground and never disappoints. Its so beautiful and serene and my family loves it. I appreciate the bathrooms always being cleaned everyday and rangers securing the grounds. I always get the lake view not just for the convenience but the views at sunset are breathtaking. Cant wait to go back this summer.

The lake is beautiful. Great weather in mid April. I would stay on the east side to get son in the morning and shade in the afternoon. Restrooms are not well kept. Clean restrooms would make this place the best for camping but of course they are not clean.

Good clean campground, decently clean bathrooms.The water in the lake was amazing and generally a beautiful location.The bathrooms also have shower area, no soap though

The dump station was full and we had no notification. Only to find out when we were going that is had a full sign and it was blocked off. Called and they said it was scheduled to be emptied in 4 days. Was difficult to find a dump station, we should have notification before booking.

Park rangers were super helpful and nice! Camp site was quiet and rules were obeyed. Only gripe was my campground was littered with cigarette butts!
@catharine320D4 · Camped on Mar 16, 2025 at Campsite #57
After only a few nights being there they had a main water pipe break we were told to leave asap it took me hours to pack up. I don't believe the refund amt is correct plus I spent most of next day searching for another campground and paying the reservation fee again.
@KylieSC06A7AD8 · Camped on Mar 15, 2025 at Campsite #15
The campground is okay. It has plenty of geese and deer along with oak lined rolling hills of grass. However, the campground closed in our last day and told everyone to leave, IMMEDIATELY! Regardless of what the campers were doing. They stayed the water main had broke that morning but the water was still running. Many of the sites are unlevel. Our site had a dead tree marked to be cut down. It did not seem well kept. They also did not have a camp host. The ranger stated that he was only a volunteer. Stay at your own risk.
@KirkM5140167 · Camped on Mar 14, 2025 at Campsite #46
My site was so sloped I could not level my LTV. I called and got a dozen other available sites to check to see if I could find something that was more level and I could not. The campground is the worse I hav seen in the last four months touring CA. The toilets were disgustingly bad and tent campers camped all around the toilets. Bad experience, we left after one night.
@DiannaB7653837 · Camped on Mar 9, 2025 at Campsite #52
We really like it here, but many of the site pads are very unlevel. Other than that, it's great.

Park rangers are super friendly and helpful. Always a relaxing stay.
@DonovanCAA91CF · Camped on Feb 24, 2025 at Campsite #51
Nice, helpful stop in for daily patrols. Seem like facilities are check and cleaned on a weekly basis by contractors. This particular spot seemed ideal for me with bathroom and water within easy reach, and a quiet setting

Was unable to stay as rv dump station was unusable, as it has been for months
@AlanG9444471 · Camped on Jan 28, 2025 at Campsite #13
It was very quiet, I got there a little early but the ranger was very nice and let me stay in my space because it hadnt been occupied the night before. There is a nice walk from the campground to the lake.

We spent our time on the site #15 for 2 nights. Nice view, quiet

Great place to get some rest nice and quiet
@SamS5464358 · Camped on Jan 17, 2025 at Campsite #13
Pros: Free showers, clean sites, and water access were close by.Cons:Fire rings grill/grate falling apart a little, water pressure was really low, and the mens restroom lock mechanism was missing (good thing someone brought in a twig).

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
