Nice and clean camp sites. Restrooms and showers were cleaned daily. Restrooms and showers can get busy in the early am and evening since theres one stall of each on the mens side.My only complaint is the camp sites are not walking distance to the lake. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and the staff/rangers were very helpful.Will visit again. Thank you.

This was my first time camping here and was booked day of. Your designated camp area for Site 103 is directly behind where you back in, not the site next to your cars. The ranger came around in our 2nd day, around 7:00 pm to let us know we were set up in the wrong place & if the people who reserved the site came we would likely need to move. Completely understandable. This is apparently a common issue here. We were a small group but a family member kept testing the limits unfortunately, the ranger was extremely patient with us. Quiet hours are not enforced but a 3rd vehicle is. If tent camping, bring a shade pop up with side panels. The water level is low according to a neighbor who was here last year. The walk to the lake is fairly easy, next to the overflow parking you can kind of see a path under the trees. Zero shade on the shore and its rocky. This lake seems to be more of a boating lake and not much of you just want to swim or spend the day on the shore.

Over all stay 4/5 stayed for 1 night. Booked to go to explore Columbia and other attractions such as coyote cave during the day to come back by evening and set up camp for the nights -Pros-*Clean- since it seems only small groups stay here it was fairly clean other than some trash that rolled down hill. *Private- you are down a slope so any cars or person walking cant really see you also other sites too. *quiet- since you are downhill sound that came from the nearby site was minimal. went on the 4th of July and maybe 1 family group closer to the entrances popped fire crackers when it got dark hope they got a warning , not a smart ideal with a lot of dry fuel nearby. Noticed the sherif drove by at 10 to make sure it was quiet time. * Size- perfect my little family of 3 I would recommend its not that safe for kids under 4 although my toddler is very good at listening we felt it was safe enough. *showers/restroom. Very close to this site 1 site over( and showers are free!!) *Breeze and bugs- nice lake breeze that comes and goes. And no mosquito which is a first that I didnt get devoured. Minimal spiders and other crawlies. Fire ring facing the lake/open area Gas station with convenience store at the entrance Walmart was roughly 25 mins away. So fairly close for supplies. *New single lane driveway pad, 2 cars back in style, big enough for a 20ft 5th wheel and truck(No water hook up) or 2 camper vans. -Cons* very exposed to the sun, bring your own shade with a shade wall*size- if you have a group of 2 families might be tight to set up 2 tents second one might be on a slope or unless you pitch one next to the cars. (Possibly can be windy so stake down tents and easy ups)*hill side you would need to carry all equipment and supplys on one of 2 trails of the site roughly 20 -40 ft or hiking down from the car. Making multiple trips might be Tiring in the middle of the day heat. Would I book again yes

Good place to stay. Big distance between campgrounds. We were at 016. Partly shadow.

Very disappointing. From the online map, it is not clear that there is a significant elevation between the campsite and the lake, but appears that the distance between the site and the lake is close. It is not. Didn't even appear to be a reasonable walk to the lake. Then we drove around looking for a place to play in the lake, and couldn't find one. The swim beach parking is so far from the lake that it's not reasonable to carry all our "stuff" (canopy, paddleboards, etc) down to the water's edge. The closest spot is near the dock, but there is no swimming near the dock. Fine, we can handle that. So we unloaded our "stuff" near the dock, filled up the paddleboards, and paddled from there out away from the dock. But we got reprimanded multiple times for being too close to the dock, even though we were not swimming or fishing. It was super annoying, we couldn't find any good place to just play in the water, and there isn't a good map helping new comers know where to go, if there even is a good place to launch paddleboards, or sit on the lake side while the kids play in the water. Likely will not be going back. Just a whole lot of frustration and waste of money and kids unable to play freely.

Great campsite! It was quiet and clean. Restrooms were kept clean as well. We definitely will be back!

This is not the kind of place you go to have a nice relaxing time by the lake. Access to the lake is almost nonexistent as the lake is too low to be near the campground or walkways. Near the water's edge it is very muddy, not a sand type surface. The campground itself is more like attending a music festival. It packed with loud people and loud music. We left one day into our 3 day trip to find something more suitable for relaxation.

Spacious sites with lots of shade options. A lot of the campgrounds are closed and in disrepair, but the open 2 open ones are nice.

Stayed at #39 site. Campground is maintained well. Flush toilets and shower available. Shade is partial. Afternoon can get really hot in summer.

We stayed on a Thursday night and there were not many campers up there. It was so quiet. The bathrooms were clean.Some of the campsites (especially #17 the one we originally chose) have a steep drop to a narrow, flat campsite then another even steeper drop to the lake. I would have been ok with it had I not had my energetic, overly confident and sometimes clumsy 4 year old with me. It made me nervous that he could tumble down the hill into the lake far below.

Had a great time. Staff was helpful and professional. What a beautiful Lake with so many resources. Fishing was fantastic. Kokanee, trout and bass were plentiful. Some parking spots are smaller than others to park a truck and boat combo.

Wonderfully setup campsites, not too close to each other so there are privacy. Surprisingly, the campers observed the Quiet Hours which was nice. Toilet and Shower facilities were adequate. The door stalls were broken so you have to use a chain to keep the doors closed. We would return to this campground again later this year.

It's the best campsite we had. Site #12 by Ironhorse Campground. The view is perfect! By the lake and trees. Also close to the restroom. Very clean and great shower! We spent 2 nights. Went hiking down Melones lake and found surreal view of flowers and the lake. Highly Recommended! Thank you Angels Camp

I had a fantastic experience camping at the Glory Hole Recreation Area, specifically at the walk-in sites at the end of Iron Horse. These sites are on a peninsula, offering incredible 360-degree views of Lake Melones, which makes for breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The sites are spacious, and depending on where you land in the loop, you'll enjoy a nice level of privacy. We DID go in February, so not sure how things change when it's peak season. The amenities were basic but convenient. The bathrooms were close by, and there was a water spigot right at the start of the walk-in sites, which was super helpful.One of the best parts of our trip was that the campground is pet-friendly. It was our first time camping with our dogs, and the peaceful atmosphere made it perfect for them. We were able to tie them to a couple of trees using long leads, and they had a blast running around the grassy areas and lounging with us at the campsite. It really made the experience feel more special, and they loved it!The peacefulness of the area really added to the experience, and I can definitely see myself returning in the future. It would be even more fun to bring along a couple of other families to stay in the walk-in sites together. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a serene camping experience with gorgeous lake views, and especially if you're camping with pets!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
