I camp here fairly often. I love the lake. The water access is well maintained. Campgrounds are also well maintained. Campers and Rangers have always been friendly and respectful in all the times Ive been here. Campsites are not the largest, but Id say Northern California standard size.. but also doesnt feel like your neighbor is right on you either. The reservation process is easy and straight forward.

The campground was clean, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I cant wait to plan more camping adventures in the future.

Our campsite was amazing, the water was beautiful!! We caught a couple of catfish. The only thing I would say is, they let some pretty shady and loud disrespectful people camp there. Other then that we had an amazing time and a good show or two!

The lake at New Hogan is fuller than we've seen it in many years, a real plus. The campground docent(s) were no-where to be found. Sites that were reserved were not tagged. Campers, unaware that the spaces were reserved, set up their campsites, only to be told (politely) that the space was taken. A real mess. The campground itself was fine, but who wants to show up late in the day to find your reserved space already occupied, because the docent was lazy???

Horrible. Site 17. Boulders so cant pull out slide. Especially if you want to open the door! Sloped so much cant get the bubble to appear on the level . Need small trailer <20 ft to be in that site.

I wish there's no drought. You have to walk 10 mins to get to the water. There are tiny leaches all over your feet when you get off the water. Make sure to wash off after. I had a great experience with my family except the night another camper had a bday party with loud music and drinking till 4ish AM. They had a curfew but some just dont follow rules. Great place for first time campers.
