Nice back-in site off the beaten path away from jet skiers, etc. Full morning sun with decent shade later on. Site 99 next door seems very nice too, both with close access to the shoreline for wading or fishing. Leave the boating, etc.for the west side loop area.

We stayed in Spot # 100, in the Acron Campground. The lake view from the camp spot was great. Very quiet at night. Fellow campers were friendly and it was great to see the Park Ranger come through the campground multiple times. Spot # 100, was a little difficult to get my 35ft Class A in, but made it work. The bathroom by our spot didn't have a working shower and the drying machines were not working. Other bathrooms we used throughout the campground were hit or miss, all need work and deep cleaning and repairs. I did see bathroom janitors through out campground, but overall all bathrooms need a "top to bottom" extensive cleaning. Not sure if there we camp hosts on site, as we drove in on our arrival past the entrance and didn't obatin a pass, even though we had reservations, so I guess that was ok. Would go back again, but only up to mid to late spring or fall/winter, as I think it would be hot during the summer months.

Bathrooms were filthy and none of the toilets or urinals worked.
There were a large quantity of people per site that could not be supported by the campground resources (garbage and bathroom).
There were people at our camp site, telling us they booked the site too, but could not provide any documents. Getting a hold of rangers was nearly impossible and this was at 3:00pm.

The rangers were friendly and respectful. On the other hand The weather was extremely hot the days I was there it every day it went from 104 and reached 111 with the evenings in the low 90s high 80 thanks to having showers it made the heat bearable.

I am heartbroken reporting this about a lake I love and hold dear to my heart. Bathrooms were disgusting and dirty with urine and feces. Drove to multiple restrooms within the Acorn Campground. Toilets had feces and urine on the floor. Bathrooms were covered in spiders in all stalls and showers. Sinks were layered with dirt. Park rangers appeared only to keep toilets well stocked with toilet paper while making AM & PM rounds; Which in years past campers would have to bring their own toilet paper by late afternoon. Bathrooms have been in decline for the past 3-4 years. (Except during the 2020 covid shut down only 2 Marina bathrooms were open, while campgrounds were closed). In the past, ACOE contracted janitorial services in which bathrooms were hosed/sprayed down each morning, including disinfected & scrubbed toilets, clean sinks, showers and floors.

Half the showers were broken and water was too hot in the one I used. Bathrooms often out of toilet paper and same glob of toothpaste was in the sink for more than a week. A lot of deferred maintenance.

Nice campground overall but definitely could use upgrading. Sites are small, not level and not made for trailers or RVs. Water and restrooms are too far apart and boat launch at campground was closed
