We arrived an hour before a big two hour storm. Then settled down and stopped raining overnight. Very nice and clear the next day. I really like the smaller atmosphere here. We had the place mostly to ourselves. Barely anyone here because it was Sunday night and rain for a part of the night. But it was great and I'll be back.

Matthews Arm Campground is a gem in Shenandoah National Park. The location is excellent, quiet, scenic, and surrounded by nature. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, which made the experience even better.One of the highlights of staying here is the Upper Overall Run Falls hike, which starts right from Matthews Arm Road. It offers one of the best views in all of Virginia, especially if you make it to the overlook above the falls, which is absolutely worth the effort!The only small area for improvement is the restrooms; theyre clean but could use some upgrades or extra maintenance. Overall, its an excellent campground and Id definitely stay here again.

Had a nice site. Host was great. Bathrooms were decent. There was a loud group a few sites away making noises until at least 3am. Some have no respect.

Love Mathew's Arm! Nice tent pad with logs around it, picnic table, fire ring, bear box, and restrooms close. Easy access to trails too.

Campground was very nice, and the trees and slight hills made it feel quieter and less busy than it was. Would camp here again!

Nice overall, and quiet, with comfortable level site. Would have been better with hot water and heat in the restrooms. It was cold that night!!

Hardly anyone at this campground, which was nice. My one night here, it rained, so it wasn't super exciting. The bathroom was clean and maintained well. Stayed at site C163. The campground hosts were very friendly and helpful since I checked in after the check-in station was closed at 4:30pm. Stayed here on our way out of the park heading north. Would stay again for a night.

Site 164 loop C. A back in site with an Asphalt pad. Pad slope down at the back, had to use 1 level pad. Site had no power, water or sewer. Seem to be a lots of traffic as we were on the edge of the loop. Each site had a storage box for food. Roads were paved, but tight. Zero cell service. Our site had plenty of room to enjoy the Shenandoah forest.

It was a beautiful weekend and the camp ground was full, but it was a very enjoyable time. There were a lot of families and people enjoying the outdoors. Despite all of the people, it was quiet and the facilities were maintained properly. The sites are a little smaller, but there are plenty of woods behind and about to enjoy nature. I enjoy the access to all of the wonderful trails as well.

Great place to stay. Some campsites are tough or hilly, but hey, thats nature for ya!

We had a very hilly RV camp parking spot. It made sleepy tricky, and ended up pulling in vs Backing in.

Beautiful camp grounds. Deer came up to our campsite each morning for 3 days. Seemed not afraid of my dogs, I think the deer either wanted to play or maybe just teasing my dog. The last morning at our campsite, my Dane. Woofed and I looked up and saw a shiny fat black bear. When my Dane really sounded out the bear ran into the woods edge still within sight and climbed a tree. Super amazing location. Friendly Rangers.

It was a beautiful campsite, but the phone didn't work, and I wish there were at least some simple shower facilities. Also, the ground was very muddy, so the wet ground was a bit of a drag.

The campground is amazing! I would recommend this site for those wanting to explore the northern part of the park. Very easy to get to everything!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
