Great little campground. I had 2 sites next to each other on the "island" and they were great (site 13& 15) I had my 20 ft trailer on the road next to the site and it was perfect. The river was beautiful and great for fishing. I will let you know the road that turns into the campground has a very sharp turn. If you are coming from Pine off of 285 the turn is sharp. I had to back into both lanes to turn into the campground. There is a blind curve from the other direction. My daughter had to get out to warn traffic if necessary. Luckily, it was a weekday and slow. The vault toilets were very well maintained.

If you like no shade and sleeping on a steep hillside then this would be your place. Beautiful area, but very disappointed. Also, the picture is very deceiving as there are no aspen trees in the area.

Most spots do not include any acutal location to park your car or RV other than alongside the road. spot 18, which is listed as an RV site is just marker along the road. Camper is just parked in the street with a 4 foot drop to the grass. Not ideal for much of anything as there isn't a tent pad if you weren't in a camper? Location is nice, river is nice, campground very misrepresented.

Upon arrival there was no host present or any way to contact them. The placards for site reservations had not been updated for my date of arrival, so by the time I arrived around 7:30pm, someone thinking the site was available had already set up camp. There were no other sites vacant so I ended up leaving and returned home. I had reservations for two night and basically was out the fee, the gas and time it took to drive to the campsite. I will never reserve this again during the summer months.

Campsite 3 was only set up for an RV. Tent site for this was absolutely amazing, right by the river where the view was spectacular, however, the fire pit and picnic table was far from the tent site. The host this year did not keep up with the bathroom, one night there was no toilet paper and was not cleaned everyday. The host last year kept everything clean and smelling good.

Very cool campground! We stayed in site 5. Just as a heads up this site says is trailer friendly but you just have to park on the road and then walk down to your site. Also the level 2 fire ban is in place for Jefferson County. We thought this campground was Douglas county which only has a level 1 ban. Long story short, we couldnt have a fire but we still had fun. We floated down the river and watched all the fly fishers. Great place! $10 extra a night per additional car past the two car site limit as an FYI.

Beautiful spots right on the river. Well maintained campground with wonderful hosts. Cleanest bathrooms I have ever experienced at a campground. The hosts blocked day-use the weekend we were there, so we didn't have to deal with a bunch of extra crowding. The river was still very high and swift at the end of June.

The Campground Host do a fantastic job in maintaining the privys and are Exceptionally friendly. Several (many) times I have seen them go beyond the norm of helping people with campsites. They are always happy and helpful.

Our campsite had rain ruts all through it. It does not have a built up pad. Thankfully the campers next door had a rake and loaned it to us. The vegetation blocked the view of the river. No shade either. Hosts were great and everyone was very quiet at night.

Beautiful campground right on the river! The sites are well maintained and the views are spectacular. We really enjoy fly fishing and sharing the river with the tubers floating down the river.

A few things to be aware of: Biting flies are very bad. If you're not prepared to take shelter in your tent or wear full coverage clothing for several hours, not the location for you. Deet doesn't work on these guys and they leave welts. Dogs are hit particularly hard. For the most part, sites are not pull-up and load out. You will have to carry gear further than most campsites that aren't hike-in. Campsites are very close together compared to other campgrounds as well. Parking is tight and people overload their sites above vehicle capacity, making it worse. There is really only room for one tent per site due to uneven ground.The pros: Fishing access.

Nice little campground right in the valley of the Rockies. Not over crowded like Estes Park. We were worried about not having privacy since there was a fire there in that area, but there were plenty of ever greens through out the campground. It felt like we were camping in a Christmas tree farm. The camp host was very helpful. The facility was clean and well organized. We will for sure venture back there some day.

We liked how close it was to the river, clean restrooms, and friendly people. We didn’t love how close the sites were to each other; it was tough to fall asleep when you could hear people talking and laughing. Easy to get to, paved road the whole way, few mosquitos but lots of ankle biting horse flies.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
