Great peaceful spot. We love the access to trails and the quite environment there

The campground was quiet and beautiful. Road to get to it was narrow and curvy. The host was helpful and friendly, gave me a map and recommended a nice hike. Bring your own maps as there is no cell reception.

Checked in early Tuesday, left midday Thursday in mid June, 2024. The bad: Outhouses were never cleaned in spite of the host saying he cleans them daily as a part of his duties. No bear lockers in spite of warnings about bears. (A hiker we met on the Colorado Trail said he saw a black bear about four miles from the campground.) Fee was high considering there was no water. Do not stay in sites 1 through 6 if you have a dog. They are close to the host who has three huskies that may make your dog nervous. The good: several very good hiking and biking trails less than a quarter mile away, including the Colorado trail. Good shade. Good fire rings and picnic tables. Most sites have level parking for camper vans.

Not too far from home but still quiet and beautiful! Great site for our first camping experience with our infant.

Always love the mountain biking there and the shade of the trees at camp.

It was a great experience! The sites looked pretty close together where we were (site 22), but was perfect for us since there were no other campers around. The camp host was friendly and readily available, and the site/bathrooms were clean and well maintained. There is absolutely no cell service so you'll need to go for a drive until you get a bar or two. We will definitely be back!

Very nice campground that is really uncrowded on weekdays. The camp host was great and does a good job keeping the campground up. The trail access is wonderful and the mountain biking is fantastic!

Our campground was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The firepit was fairly full with ashes but other than that, it was a lovely spot.

Great small campground, camp host was friendly and helpful. Even thought some spots will fit long camping trailers, the spots are more tailored to tent campers. Depending on the size of your trailer I would probably not recommend it since the drive to the campground (about 5 miles from the main road) and the campground itself is pretty tight. Everything is kept well and bathrooms are clean. Great scenery and hiking trails. Overall I would recommend it for a two night tent camping trip.

Fantastic location and amenities! Incredible campground hosts. Will definitely return.

Clean vault bathrooms, cute creek across the road for splashing, the campground has a nice biking loop for kids. Plenty of shade.

I camped with a group of middle school Girl Scouts, and we had a great time. Fortunately, we were warned when we made our reservation that we'd have to provide our own water. We brought plenty, but trying to balance bringing enough water with having space for other things was our biggest challenge. The long dirt road to the campground had us reconsider our plan to hike at Pine Valley Ranch Park, but we still went, and the park was wonderful. We would definitely consider camping here again.

Our second year here with our group. It was quite nice, good hosts, nice flat campsite spaces, easy access to trails. The only downsides weren't the fault of the site--a neighboring campsite had some huge loud booming bass party ALL NIGHT LONG our first night. (our camp hosts with the help of the Sheriff closed the party down much earlier the next night). And it rained a lot on Saturday. But fun was still had by all--and it makes a better story anyway!

The campsite was located in some very beautiful woods, and was worth the drive! Unfortunately all of the sites were very close together and there wasn’t a lot of privacy. Additionally, many of the sites, including ours, were located on hills with no flat spaces to place tents.

Lovely hosts and very nice campground, as long as you're prepared for no running water. The nearby creek is fun, lots of nice hikes nearby (of varying lengths). Bathrooms were clean, but there were a lot of flies.
@SeanD7997205 · Camped on Jun 17, 2022 at Campsite #13
Great access to mt. biking trails. Our campsite (and a number of others) are not flat and don't have a flat tent pad spot. I guess with #vanlife the campgrounds don't cater to tent campers anymore?!

Best time to go is during the weekday when the campground is hardly being used. The camp hosts were very nice, accommodating and promptly answered any questions we had when we arrived.

There is no water available. The page at Recreation.gov should update that info.

Great time as usual. The new camp hosts are really good. Respectful, courteous and available.

Nice campground with lots of good hiking and biking nearby. Very family-friendly. Campground hosts were excellent and bathrooms were very clean. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because we were in site 3, which was too close to the bathroom for us.

The hosts were spectacular. Made us feel welcome, handled some confusion, and made our visit a pleasure! Kudos to her!

Beautiful part of Colorado for camping. You definitely feel like you're "out there" even though it's just about 90 minutes from Denver. The campgrounds are nice. Lots of trees and shrubs. Some of the spots are more level than others and there is quite a bit of erosion on the road and in certain parking spots. The camp hosts did a great job of keeping all the sites super clean. If you need cellular service (I did - sad, I know) you can drive 3 miles east up to a spot that is sort of a picnic spot and get full bars there.

Beautiful campground with well kept facilities. Campsites are well marked and updated with your name for reservations.

Good site. Friendly host. Clean and peaceful. Lots of kids making a lot of noise tho. Also next to no cell coverage out there.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
