Real plumbing in the bathroom facilities. Great hosts. And, close to the local attractions or transportation routes.

Coldwater Campground was the ideal spot for the start of our road trip. The campground was peaceful, nestled between two creeks and at the end of Lake Mary. Close to hiking trails, flushable toilets and wonderful camp hosts!

Best campground in southern California. Many great sites, be careful though, some driveways are too steep for RV sleeping, these are on the inside of the loops.No ATT internet reception, just texting.

We had a wonderful time. The camp host named Kathy was superb keeping good control of the campground while making everyone feel welcome. We do have a problem with the way Rec.gov is representing the Twin Lakes campground. Sites are misnumbered. Visitors cannot rely that the campsite requested is the campsite they will receive. This part was extremely annoying. How are we supposed to register for next year and receive the campsite we've requested. This needs to be fixed PRONTO!!!

Campsite 8 was a little small. Tent area sat directly in a natural water passage way that would flow a small stream of hill run off in the event of rain. Basically, if it rains, your campsite will become a river. Everyone exiting the campground will drive by you, headlights at night were an issue. Right by the stream, it sounded so nice at night. Bathroom, water and trash were 10 second walks. Nobody to the left, in front, right. Only one site behind you. Very nice campground. Minimal mosquitos this year, some yellow jackets though. No Verizon cell service but we had Starlink with no issues.

Clean, quiet campground. Warm, clean bathrooms. Great hiking trails right out of the campground.

Very nice campground, even if not so close to the lake - quite high so be ready for cold temperatures - showers are available at another campground

We loved our stay at Coldwater. Its such a beautiful campground. Its close to the lakes, beautiful hikes and downtown. The camp hosts were so friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were always kept clean. Our campsite was next Mammoth Creek. Listening to the water flow all night was a dream! We will defiantly camp at Coldwater again!

Mammoth Lakes campground is great. And our stay in site #70 was terrific, with the closest bathroom kept spotless by the camp hosts and included a bottle of hand soap!

This is our favorite campground. From the spacious sites, to the streams and pine trees, you can't help but feel your tensions ease. New this year for us, was paddle boarding on Horseshoe Lake. What a beautiful lake, and it was exciting to see so many people enjoying it. All the potential hikes to various lakes, right from the campground, make it even more enjoyable.

Great place to spend the night! Helpful staff pointed us to an awesome lake for our backpack.

Mammoth Lakes is something we always look forward to camping at. We chose and will continue to choose Coldwater creek.

Mosquitos were fierce this year in the campground. Wear repellent.
@LisaL2148259 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #44
A great campsite location by Lake Mary. The sites were spacious and not too close to the next site. The bathrooms were clean.

The mosquitos here were relentless. Make sure you have mosquito repellent handy before you exit your vehicle/camper. Otherwise it was beautiful, the sound of the creek was nice and the hikes from the campground were great. Biking around the area was fun too but being at the top meant a roll into town for ice cream (do not miss Local Scoop) was followed by a significant climb back up. The campground quiet and well maintained. No cell service.

This is a beautiful campground near hiking trails, parks and nature attractions, and Mammoth lakes. It's close to Yosemite, Mono lake, Obsidian Dome, natural hot springs, Hot Creek, June Lake and more. The bathrooms are regularly maintained and cleaned by the friendly and helpful camp hosts. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is because of the biting flies that are there, I think this is due to the stables nearby. I don't remember biting flies being native to this area. They are a real nuisance. I'm hoping something can be done about them.
@AnnH4487288 · Camped on Jul 6, 2025 at Campsite #21
This is a great campground. Nice large campsites. Unfortunately, there were many flies this year that were biting. Worse than mosquitoes.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
