The facilities were nice, very clean bathrooms and spacious campsite. The walk-in sites were pretty well spaced out but a further walk than I anticipated. The main problem was that mosquitoes were absolutely relentless during our early September stay. Plan to cover every inch of your body and wear a net over your head or you will be eaten alive. We ate our dinner and fled to the beach where it was gorgeous and bug free. Left at dawn and at breakfast elsewhere. Simply not possible to enjoy time at the camp site unless you have a screened tent or something.

Friendly campground host. The site in Douglas loop was nice and roomy. Just there for one night but walked both loops before departure. Great BBQ restaurant close by.

Spacious site. Clean restrooms. We were happy to have the sink for dishes. Volunteers welcoming and helpful. Very quiet at night. Great phone connections to ATT. Signage throughout the area is very clear as to what part of the park one is close to. Enjoyed Dune Ridge trail, Portage lakefront and Riverwalk, and the Chellberg and Bailly farms. And of course Lake Michigan.

Fine campground especially for a stop over. Clean restrooms with showers. Sites are big. No hookups. Just wish it was closer to water and visitor center.

Really nice lady at the desk. Clean campground. Loved it!

Easy to find. Dry camping but water and a dump station available. Nice quiet campground. The only draw back for us, since we have solar is the campground is heavily shaded. This would be a great plus in the hot summer. Site are very level at least site 50 was. Very nice campground would stay here again.

Office staff/camp host was wonderful. Everything was very easy to set and they provided all necessary info. Sites were well maintained. Did not use the bathhouse facilities so cant comment there

Lots of trees offered privacy from neighbors. Running water, flush toilets and hot showers made camping very comfortable. The campground was small so the bathroom was close. It was quiet also. A treat was to see the wild turkeys in the morning. The campsite was neat.

This campsite was clean and peacful, with a beautiful beach nearby. Lake View Beach was only a little over a mile away.

Great campground with a feeling of privacy between sites due to the foilage/spacing

The campground was good, with ample space to pitch two tents. The weather didn't contribute; it rained from the time we pitched the tent until we left the next day, with thunderstorms and lightning. Otherwise, it was good. The restroom and showers could use an update, but nothing too concerning. The place is surrounded by beautiful trees. Watch out for poison ivy, which is scattered throughout. Overall, we want to come back when the weather is nicer.

Wooded sites with good space between for privacy. Bathrooms had decent showers. Extremely buggy. Too many mosquitoes to even be out to fill the water tank. No ranger on duty.

Wonderful experience. Nice campground with clean bathrooms and shower. Bit pricey. But we will come back definitely.

Beautiful views and nice amenities. The bugs were unbearable and did not care about bug spray at all.

The stairs pictured in site 49 lead up to a tent area. You have to carry all your things up to the site. We were in an 18 foot van that just fit. Parking pad was not level so needed to use leveling blocks.

Beautiful and well-maintained campground

The welcome volunteer was fantastic. She was very friendly and helpful. The camp host was also super nice. I like the walk in campsite I had and was looking forward to some quiet. Unfortunately, the site was loud, as there are train tracks close by and it is used frequently. Also, I mistakenly thought the site was within walking distance to the beach and lake, which it was not. While I enjoyed my visit to Indiana Dunes National Park, I would not consider camping there again and can only rate the overall experience as fair.

A wagon was helpful to haul everything to our beautiful walk-in site.

We first enjoyed the film at the visitors center to help us get oriented. We loved eating supper at the Dune Ridge bathrooms / picnic tables before watching the sunset with our toes in Lake Michigan on Kemal Beach. The Dunewood camp ground greeter was very helpful with check-in and orientation. We enjoyed the hot showers, restrooms and potable water.

Very nice campground. The gnats were bad on walks but otherwise nice! Thanks!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
