Beautiful and secluded campgrounds. But of a drive off the highway, but that just means you only hear sounds from other campers, not the highway. Great place to kayak or float.

Nice quiet campground. Loved the dishwashing sink. Showers couldve been a little nicer.

While the campground location was great for accessing the park it had a few issues. 1. It was right near the train tracks so if youre sleeping in a tent, you hear that all night long and all through the day. The trains do sound their horn whether its night or day too.2. The bathrooms were not clean, especially in the shower area. That was disgusting.3. And lastly, may not matter, but if you need to stake a tent, the pads were so hard that it made driving the mistakes in difficult. Pros1. Great location for Park activities.2. The host were really nice.3. The campsite were clean and for the most part other than the trains, the campground was pretty quiet and well shaded.

The park staff were very nice and helpful, and very clear about the campground rules upon check-in. I prefer a campground where people are not blaring stereos all day and night, and they want to ensure a quiet, positive experience for all, which it was. Campsites are large and spread out. Overall, the physical setup of the campground was nice. Only complaint is the showers only had ice cold water!!! With how spread out and urban Indiana Dunes NP is, the campground was fairly centrally located, about a mile from the nearest beach and some trails, and despite how urban the area is, getting back into the campground gave a more rustic feel.

Campground staff were friendly and helpful. Ranger and volunteer led hike to the top of Mt. Baldy was incredible!

The whole campground was very clean! No trash in fire rings or on ground around the campground. Restrooms and showers were also free of trash and although older were kept clean. Beautiful mature trees between campsites with enough space between sites to feel almost private. Staff was very friendly and came to our campsite to introduce themselves and make sure we were checked in and happy with our site. Check in was super easy! Since we reserved our site online all we did for check in was confirm our name and dates reserved. No electric hookups but I brought my power station to recharge my phone and other electronics I had with me. To the volunteers, thank you for all you do to keep our parks beautiful!

As a tent camper, I appreciated a dish washing station, which is rare to find anymore. I also really liked the water fountain and water bottle filler in the campground - very useful!! The sites are large and well-maintained and the couple running check-in were super friendly and knowledgeable.

We enjoyed the beach right down the road! Close to gas stations, a few towns, stores, and trails. We were able to do laundry at a laundromat about 10 minutes away and get groceries in the same spot. The campground itself was quiet and tucked away, which was nice, and there were nice showers, but the driveways were very small and hard to accommodate our pop-up camper and car, and a little less private than we would have liked. We didnt have a great experience with the staff either, so we spent most of our time away from camp and only came back to sleep.

The host was less than hospitable I would even say grumpy and definitely invasive. I e been camping here for 25 years every year and this was by far the worst experience

We love that the campground is secluded without campsites on top of one another. The restrooms were clean and the camp hosts very helpful. The location is great and we did not notice a lot of noise (were in a camper and not a tent).

Great Campgrounds with full shower and bathrooms plus purified water. Friendly staff and a great area to visit both in the national park and the surrounding area, I wish I could go back and start again.

Dunewood Campground is right in the heart of Indiana Dunes National Park. The location makes it easy to get to any of the Parks beaches and trails. We found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, and they were super helpful getting us oriented to the beaches and other Park features. Our campsite was in the Douglas Loop and it was very spacious and well shaded (much appreciated on this hot June trip). The bathrooms and showers were very clean, which was also a welcome find when we needed to clean up after a busy day. This was among the nicer campgrounds weve experienced at National and/or state campgrounds.

We enjoyed the campsite we had reserved. It was close to the bathrooms which turned out to be a good thing since the water in our rental RV wasn't working. We made good use of the camp sink. The individual shower rooms were nice. Staff were at the bathrooms often to clean, resupply TP etc. Loved the open atmosphere of the campground.

This was the quietest campground we have ever stayed at. Loved the set up of the two loops with the bathroom in the middle. There were 4 shower rooms. Bathrooms had entrance on both sides so you didn't have to walk around the building. Big sink to wash dishes in. Very limited traffic past our site because of loop layout. Stayed for four nights but seemed like most were in and out in one or two nights. The short hike to old baldy beach was worth it. We had it to ourselves for almost an hour one morning. The full 3.5 mile loop at West Beach was worth the drive. Lovely trails through many different ecosystems. Many different types of wildflowers in Mid June. Site 44 had a little hill between the sites next to us so we could only really see the site on the other side of the road.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
