Beautiful park; large, clean, uncrowded beach (albeit on a weekday in early September); scenic campground with helpful staff and well-maintained bathhouses. We actually enjoy the historic sites and woodland hikes as much as, or more than, the beaches.

THE PARK RANGERS WERE VERY KIND AND HELPFUL

An amazing campground in a convenient location! The sites a spaced apart well so you never feel on top of one another and the sites themselves are huge. We were able to fit our large living tent and a dining tent without it feeling crowded. The camp hosts are nice and checked in with us as soon as we arrived. We were close to the restroom facilities which were large, clean, and included flush toilets and showers. They don’t sell firewood or ice on-site but there are a few convenience store located at the entrance of the park where you can buy some. Being in the woods and so close to the lake expect a lot of bugs in the summer time. Overall a great experience!

I was at park and with ranger. I was one day early by mistake. Online people did not try to find me a camp spot. And would not refund fees. I had to drive all the way back home 5 hours. ??

Wonderful setting and a great location for being able to see a lot of the park!

This is a wonderful, spacious, clean campground nettled in forest. A real treat. We stayed in the loop nearer to the train tracks and one passing sounded like it was coming through our tent but all good anyway! Next time I’ll go for the other loop
