Dune wood campground is very well maintained. The support staff is doing a great job. A big thanks to Darlene, the campground host! She is doing a superb job, keeping track of incoming and outgoing campers, and potentially available campsites. We had reserved a site which turned out insufficient for us. Darlene helped us find an available site at Dunewood, and told us how to contact Recreation.gov, to switch the reservation to the new site. She was on top of who was leaving the campground and it helped us greatly!

Nice campground. New facilities. Nice volunteer host. Some traffic noise from the highways nearby but not terrible.

This is a very well located campground in the Indiana Dunes, at the entrance is a restaurant, grocery, camping store, and gas station with excellent coffee and breakfast donuts and pastries. Behind the gas station is the Beverly Shores South Shore Station with trains to Chicago and South Bend Airport and all points in-between. Behind the train station is the Calumet Trail a walk and bike trail where you can ride to Chicago or Mt. Baldy and Michigan City and soon to New Buffalo and Michigan. You can walk from the campground to the beach, one mile, passing the Indiana Dunes Great Marsh, the native plant garden in front of the Beverly Shores Administration Building and the many historical building and sites on the way. The campground is full most weekends and you are better staying during the week or reserving campsites at the beginning of the year if you are planning a trip. You will not be disappointed.

Very nice campground. Our site was a large, level, pull-through with a verynice picnic/fire pit area. Wish we had time to enjoy it, but it rained the evening we arrived, and we were there just to spend the next day exploring Chicago. Conveniently located to the train station. Pleasantly suprised with the campground.

The only thing is with the online reservations you can't see the site. I would have liked to switch sites (that were available online) but that option did not exist, even by calling.
Otherwise, great campground, clean, quiet, safe. LOVE

Campsites are well spaced out and very clean on arrival. Active camp hosts make sure everything is running smoothly.
The campsite was great, I liked the pull-through parking spaces and the new bathhouses were excellent. Access to the sand dunes was also very good.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
