Very quiet during the week. Everything was clean except for the cigarette butts at the campsite. I picked up at least 50. Not the parks fault but lazy inconsiderate campers.

Great setting. Full hookup is definitely a plus. The parking area itself needs to be updated. We had to do quite a bit of leveling, and the front end of our camper was still off the ground.

We really enjoy camping at South Sandusky. The grounds are well maintained, and the paved trails are simply outstanding. The grounds crew do an excellent job keeping the trails cleaned of debris that falls after any storm. We generally like to camp in the sites with full hookups and really wish they would upgrade more sites to full hookups, or at least add water to all of the sites. We will be back at South Sandusky several times over the camping season.

Power was out for a few hours. Wasn't made aware of why. Had to go to the front to check. Would have been nice if someone would have driven around and said something.

Location is beautiful. Nice view of lake. Sensible layout of roads. Friendly host when arriving. Far from interstate noise. Site was narrow, sloped downhill, little difficult to back without going off grass. In a one day stay I got several bites from black ticks. I kept finding more ticks on me up to a week later. My doctor is putting me on antibiotics as a precaution.

Love this campground. Some sites are closer to other campers but that happens. Facilities are new and upkeep is excellent. Roads and pads are in excellent shape as if the site amenities.
@ChrisW1509692 · Camped on May 17, 2025 at Campsite #186
Good, clean sites, friendly and helpful staff. Some of the turn-around circles could be widened and made more level. The one near site 186 has several scrapes in the pavement from campers bottoming out. Additional trash containers could be placed within the park as well. Other than those issues, this is a great place to camp.

Excellent experience! Gracious and very helpful camp host. All employees seemed to go out of their way to help us! I love the bike paths, large spacious camspsites, fun playgrounds, nice bath houses, everything is just great. It's my favorite place to camp!
@AdamF1912245 · Camped on May 2, 2025 at Campsite #209
Site was newer, but they for some reason didnt even make them level enough to be able to level a camper on. Grass was tall. Standing water all over and huge potholes in roads.

Site was wonderful. Crew did a great job cleaning up after the storm. Love the family style bathhouse. Not great kayak access in the campground - parked at boat mooring area to access.

Pine tree Site 176 is a fantastic site. It has full hook-ups, is a level pull through pad with a little more privacy than other sites. Its across from the playground but that was not a problem while we were there. We enjoyed the site for 12 days.
@RichardU756828 · Camped on Apr 23, 2025 at Campsite #170
Beautiful campground, great hosts. Site 170 was great, mostly level. Important note: sewer hook up is uphill from the back of the campsite. Be prepared to move your camper from the back of the site to dump tanks.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
