The bike trails were very good. It would be even better if they completed the loop around the lake. The visitor center was excellent. So is the staff.

Nice trail. campground mostly empty. Our site 01 had a bad wasp issue in the tree and there were about 1 million flies! They were going to remove the tree as it looked to be dying. No camp host (ok with us) Ranger patrols pretty often (ok with us) being late October weather was great. Site cement pad pretty level but short for a 5th wheel to detach. Our truck was on a pretty significant decline, so we had to detach with rig way back on the site. Worked out ok just awkward. Didnt use or look in the restrooms/ showers. Met some great neighbors!

The campground is quite a way from the main road but that does depend a bit on how your GPS sends you in to the park. Lots of space between sites and good biking/walking opportunities in park. We stayed in site 56 which is on the water but the pad was very slanted - need blocks to level.

Our walk-in site (T-11) was wonderful!!! So beautiful to be right on the water and away from the noisy RVs. And plenty of space between walk-in sites. The only drawback is the traffic noise from interstate 57 (which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5); I didn't have trouble sleeping through it because it's a constant droning sound (like some people may use to help them sleep), but I prefer to hear the sounds of nature. Unfortunately, there's no way for this to be mitigated.

Both camp spots had a steep slope. The photos show the spots as being flat. Luckily our friends had extra leveling blocks. Also October is a beautiful month and two whole loops was closed completely. The campground was sold out. Open up the campground in October.

We was in whuspering pines #135. We liked the being by the basketball court. The kids played basketball and drew with chalk. They rode bikes and scooters on it. We were also close to showerhouse and bathrooms. A nearby playground is a great thing too. We enjoyed the nearby hiking trail and the kids liked the bike trail. We had great weather while we was there and it was a very pleasant campsite.

Beautiful spot to camp, clean, got to witness the pelican migration, pretty awesome.

Beautiful campground! The original site (87) we reserved was too sloped for our motorhome, so they very graciously found another site (110) that worked just fine. The biggest complaint I have with ACE campgrounds in Illinois is that there is no soap in any restroom.

This spot has 2% uphill grade from road to back of spot. I have a 46 foot 5th wheel toy hauler and had to put 7 inch blocks under my front jacks to bring to level, which made me put 7 inch blocks under my main door steps and create a final step. Has limited shade and camp side faces south east - you'll have sun most of the day. Utilities are conveniently positioned. Access road is narrow and the front wheels of my Ford F450 had to go off the road when backing in. Watch out for that parking block on the utility side. Now, that's the "bad". This is a very clean park, clean restrooms, Sue the camp host was very pleasant to talk with. It is a big park (3/4 mile walk to check in office). There is a pond in the center of all the campgrounds (they're arranged in a circle) with a path/trail around it. We didn't walk it, but looked well kept. I would camp here again.

Had a good time. Clean, convenient and friendly. The showers are a little dated and could use some new heads and valves but overall semi clean.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
