Dam West Rec. Area in Clinton County is located 51 min east of Belleville, IL with an elevation of 448 feet. There are a total of 108 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of April to the beginning of November. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 51 and 138 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 23 sites have electric and water hookups. 85 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $18.00 to $52.00. Some amenities include dump station, swimming, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, floating sports.

The campsites at Dam West are clean and the grass is always cut.The showers and bathrooms are clean and smell good. The attendant at the entrance is friendly and helpful.We will be back

We always enjoy out time at Dam West, We have camped at a lot of campgrounds over the years and for the past 2 yeas we have only gone to Dam West. The host are always very kind and courteous and helpful. We have never had any problems with anyone or anything at Dam West

Excellent campground! Showers and bathrooms are super clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sites are roomy and well spaced. You can get on the bike trail from the campground and ride or walk to the beach, the visitor center, or into Carlyle.

We have camped mainly at Eldon Hazlet but finally got a site at Dam West. This is a very hard campground to get in. It was worth the wait, we enjoyed the park and the full hook up site 82 that we were on. Can't wait to go back next year.

The host were very nice and answered any questions we had. Whoever was in charge of cleanup at swimming area after 4th of July did amazing because so many disrespectful people just trashed the area.

Campground Host Wendy is so very nice. After a lot of rain we had a branch fall from a tree about one foot away from our camper and we told Wendy. She sent a very nice man (sorry didnt catch his name) from the Corp out and he cut it up and took it away. He also climbed up on top of our camper to check for damage and thankfully nothing.

The campsites are very clean. The bathrooms and shower rooms are exceptionally well maintained. The campsite are very roomy. Fishing is awesome. The lady who cleans the areas and bathrooms is very thorough.

Camp grounds clean and well maintained. Showers and restrooms are good. Lake waters are clean and well patrolled. Very good fireworks for July 4 celebration

We were on site 38 most recently. It is a quiet shady site. Grandkids were along and loved going to the little library. I love that I feel safe letting them ride their bikes in this campground.

Great clean campground. Sites spaced well. Good lake access. Well shaded. Fairly quiet even on weekends with kids enjoying themselves.

We were on spot 92 which has FHU. Its a really nice spot with lots of room and great access to the lake. We also had a nice breeze off of the water which helped a lot after the hot days. We love Carlyle Lake Dam West campground!
