Had reserved spot 12 for tent camping and was quite disappointed. We ended up moving to another campground. These sites were clearly designed with RVs only in mind - only the spots on the ends like 1 & 2 had sufficient grassy area, and there was very little space between sites. Good campground host though.

McNair is a smaller campground at Carlyle Lake. Sites are a decent size, level, and asphalt! Water is shared with your neighbor. Bathhouse is immaculate! It also has a very nice beach and two playgrounds! Camphosts have always been friendly and eager to assist! We have been to McNair several times. We had a power source problem at the breaker, they calked someone out that day. One time I picked up half a sack of dog turds from the previous family, the camphost took care of the problem through the ranger. The rangers and the sherriff department make rounds regularly. It is very family friendly atmosphere. The dam is very near by and easy to access. The town is very close, less than 2 miles! Several family and chain restaurants available in town and the surrounding communities. There are choices of local and chain grocery/department type stores for your camping, picnicking, and boating needs!

This campground has the nicest campground hosts around. We enjoy camping here. The bike trail is close and it is a beautiful ride. The dam is right there and the adults and kids can just walk down the bank to fish.

Interesting campground. The sites were spaced well. Nice views. The biggest issue was the poor wording water on site. To us, that meant water at EACH individual site. Upon arrival, we discovered a hydrant was SHARED between sites. We had a nice neighbor who had a splitter, but we had to go buy one once our nice neighbor left. With all the major rain this spring, bugs were unbearable! One bug thought my ear canal was a condo and flew right in to make himself at home. I quickly got that sucker out. Most people stayed inside their tents at dusk.

We were there right as the buffalo gnats were awful! Love camping at Carlyle Lake area. Only downside was the area wasnt mowed. They came to mow ,so we picked up our lights, left. Came back to find theyd pushed them all around, pushed down a hanger.

Very clean and comfortable campground, very close to the dam and spillway, great fishing!

We camped during the off season, early spring. Very clean. Really nice "river walk" trail to hike along. Even though the main campground was closed, the bath house was still open, which was wonderful. You have to go online to reserve a spot and pay, which wasn't expected but wasn't a problem as there is good cell service.

this is a really nice campground - a lot of bike trails to ride your bike and close to town & clean bath house

Great campground, well marked and lit. Bathrooms were clean but needed restocked on TP.

Enjoyed our visit to this campground as always. All sites are paved with electric and water which is nice since there is only a bathroom with no showers. There are showers available at the McNair campground down the road. We camped in the off season so the showers are available just three days a week which is good for us. We always camp here in the winter whenever weather allows. Love it.

the host JT was excellent telling us about hiking trails we should take. And events that were happening. We would definitely go back

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
