Nice, large campsites. Plenty of space between neighbors.

Great campground but drinking water access is limited. There are games played with the registration and its nearly impossible to get lake access spot. Otherwise very nice campground with excellent shower rooms.

Great stay as always. Ready for Hazlet to open back up so it's not so busy here :)

This was our first time camping at Carlyle lake. We were very impressed with the Dam West campground. It has flat campsites and well maintained facilities. The visitor center and public beach are close drive or walk from the campground and are definitely worth visiting.

The hosts were very helpful. Someone cancelled when we were scheduled to have to move for 2 days and they let us know right away so we could just stay in our 1 location. Clean showers and I used the nice laundry facilitiesreally helpful when we had. 6 grandchildren over our stay. We love the view, bike trails, and beach right there

Seems like you need to "know someone" to get a good site. For a few years, I've been trying to reserve sites ahead of time and it is not an easy task. I see that there are first-come/first serve sites available, but they never seem to be available when we arrive. Our last visit, there was a "Campground Full" sign that appeared to be permanently affixed to the window of the gatehouse. The preferred sites on the lake are never available, even when you try to book them on the day they become available six months out. I'm wondering how the average camper can reserve a lake site. I love the area, but feel like an intruder when I visit. On my last visit, the staff made us feel like we were intruders. Hoping things become more friendly as it is a beautiful place to be. How do we join the club?
