This is one of the most beautiful spots in the United States. We brought the Adrian and Chelsea cross country teams to a group site. We ran the trails and ran on the beach. It was a wonderful experience that the kids will remember for a very long time!

Campgrounds were well maintained and hosts were busy cleaning restrooms and empty campsites continuously. Beach was huge and the water in Lake Michigan was warm.

Camping at Manistee is beautiful from the campground to the lake to the hiking trails. No phone service which is a great thing, running water is all you need. The sunset on Lake Michigan is something to behold. Cant wait to camp here again.

Great spot not too far from the lake, a good amount of hiking options that werent too crowded or difficult, and hosts were friendly as can be :)Campsites are well kept and cozy. Wish I had known I could have brought my bike! Theres a bike trail and lots of other campers riding them to get to the beach which was fun. Next time I guess.

Awesome ... limits - internet, flushing toilets -- also the beauty of this campground ... forest bath and nice hiking, beach and family area.

Very shady site. The Oak campground, where I stayed, was generally quiet day and night. Path to beach could have been better marked. Lots of trails avaiable for hiking, and plenty of room on the beach for people to spread out.

The sites are large and well kept. The hiking is great as is the biking. The hosts Bonnie and Charlie are very nice and helpful. This is my new favorite campground in Michigan.

Dennis the camp site host was a hero!! Came to my rescue as my camper battery went dead and he had a charger and graciously recharged it for us...not once but twice!!!The bathrooms were some of the cleanest vault toilets I have ever seen!!Dennis and his wife were wonderful hosts and able to answer all questions.Dennis gave us a heads up about the bold racoons and it was nice to have that heads up warning!

Been camping at Lake Michigan for 35 years. Sites need many dead branches and trees cut down. We had a dead branch fall on our tent and hit me luckily only on the shoulder and bruised it Sites could also use some grading very sloped from erosion and not great for tents

Spaced well from other sites. About an 8-10 minute walk to the beach. 50 foot walk to fresh water and 1-2 minute walk to flush toilets. Flat ground for setting up a tent that was cleared very well by the time I got there. Camp hosts were really friendly and helpful. Very shaded. I'd recommend keeping track of your food around 7pm. There is a very enterprising raccoon that came out every night to check out every camp ground for easy pickings. Lots of chipmunks too, that don't cause any nuisance but end up being a source of entertainment

Nice large private sites. Clean bathrooms. Don't count on cell service. Nice beach!

This is a very nice clean quiet campground with plenty of space between sites. There are 4 loops, 2 are Reservable 6 months in advance, and 2 are First Come First Serve. It's strange because one FCFS loop has flush toilets but the other 3 have only pit toilets. One would think the flush toilets would be on a R loop. We have a larger, but not huge, travel trailer plus a full size truck which must also be parked on the paved pad, so reservable is best for us as site we fit into are few. BEWARE: filling your water tank is NOT ALLOWED, so fill up before you get there. In fact, the water pressure is so bad here it takes forever just to fill a gallon water jug. Seems this close to Lake Michigan they would have plenty of water with good pressure! And, this campground which has 100 paved campsites--so it's obviously not just a tenting campground--also DOES NOT have dump station! The campground is separated from Lake Michigan by a dune, making it a bit of a walk "over hill and dale" through beach sand to get to the water, so keep this in mind if bringing chairs, etc with you to use on the beach. But the nice thing about the dune is you are not getting blasted by the wind off the lake when sitting at your campsite. We have camped here several years and found the hosts to always be friendly and informative. So except for the lack of a water fill and dump station, it's a great campground and I highly recommend it.

This is a beautiful campground. The campsites are well-spaced and well-shaded.

The campground was great with easy access to Lake Michigan and large sites. Unfortunately this site is right next to a drain field, smell of sewage would waft through the campsite.

The campground was amazing with easy access to Lake Michigan and a lot of space per site. The raccoons were bad. Huge numbers that stayed within feet as soon as it got dark.

Wonderful park! Spacious sites set just a short walk away from a very clean beach. The camp hosts were unfortunately unresponsive to a very loud group right across from them leading to a very sleepless night for our group. We will return and hope for better neighbors and hosts.

The DNR people were very kind and even gave us extra firewood. The real issue is the Raccoons. They ripped massive holes in my tent eve though we had no food and they would walk up to us and growl like they were going to attack one of my friends had to pepper spray it to go away. You could hear them fighting each other in the dumpsters as well.

Our site worked w lol. We enjoyed walking the trails to the dunes and the lake. We did a road trip to Traverse City the peninsula and enjoyed a few wineries. We we able to dump and get water at the Marathon Gas station on 31 for $5, as there are no dump stations at the park.

One of my favorite early spring and fall camp trips. Quiet. Usually clean and well kept. This is not a full service campground so the campers are much better prepared to camp lots of remote hiking, biking.

Beautiful setting! Camp Hosts were very nice but the bathrooms were not

Beautiful forest, beautiful dunes, beautiful camping ground and beautiful beach! If you are thinking about it... go! You won't want to leave! We did 3 nights of camping (5 days) and cried all the way home because we wanted to extend our stay. It was our first time ever camping and we chose to do it here. Btw the couple managing the camp ground at oak loop are incredible humans and so welcoming! We came all the way from redford Michigan. It was a long 4 1/2 hour drive but soooo worth it. We will be back!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
